Take performance on the go with the graphite gray 15.6″ IdeaPad 5 Laptop from Lenovo. Designed for work or play, the IdeaPad 5 sports a 1 GHz Intel Core i5-1035G1 quad-core CPU and 8GB of DDR4 RAM for punchy processing. An ample 512GB SSD can accommodate user files, including a video or photo library. Need more storage? This laptop also features an empty 2.5″ SATA III bay that can accommodate an HDD or SSD for even more storage space. Wired peripherals can be connected to two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports or a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port supporting power delivery. Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity is also present, allowing users to connect wireless peripherals as well. And, with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, in addition to 2×2 dual-band support, users can take advantage of faster internet speeds and stronger connections compared to older Wi-Fi 5.
Employing a 15.6″ 1920 x 1080 TN display with a 135° hinge, the IdeaPad 5 features integrated Intel UHD Graphics and can extend or mirror content to additional displays via the USB Type-C or HDMI 1.4b ports. Media can be accessed via a 4-in-1 card reader that supports MMC, SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory cards. And, with a 1MP HD webcam, dual-array microphone, and integrated speaker system, users can easily videoconference at home or out and about. When the webcam is not in use, you can even block the lens with a privacy shutter, ensuring privacy. Further safety measures include power-on, HDD, and supervisor passwords, as well as a dedicated TPM chip and touch-style fingerprint reader. In addition to a touchpad, the user interface includes a backlit keyboard with a number pad. This laptop features an integrated battery that can last for up 12 hours on a single charge. The Lenovo 15.6" IdeaPad 5 runs on the Windows 10 Home Operating System.

update: I was about to install an internal sata drive as it has the bay. well; there is an area for the extra ssd drive. but there is no data/power connection. that should be taken away from the description. hope I can do my dual boot with no issues. that is my ‘must have’ thing. one star off for not having the data/power connectors as the description makes you think.

the laptop has a sharp design and a very big screen, which can exactly meet my needs for work. besides, its upgraded integrated graphics card is much better than the previous intel UHD card. it can now handle a lot of games too

I purchased a Lenovo product again because I had had such good experience in the past. My new Ideapad 5 has met my expectations. I had a glitch setting it up, but Customer Service was very responsive in helping me get past it.

Pretty disappointed so far. This is my fourth Lenovo and up until now I’ve been happy with them. But on this one, the webcam is non-functional — when I run my hand over it the image darkens, but it’s just two colored blobs, no indication of what it’s looking at. I googled the problem and found that others have had the same issue, returned the laptop, and got another one with no improvement. So I’ve ordered a usb webcam, and hopefully after the pandemic it won’t matter so much, but it definitely dimmed my pleasure. The other thing that’s dimmed my pleasure is not really Lenovo’s fault, but I need to disable UEFI in order to install Linux and it would be nice if Lenovo would tell me how to do that.

Excellent price, graphics, speed, and storage. I’d give it 5 except for the touch-pad. It is a bit quirky and takes getting used to and many adjustments in settings.

Good machine thus far. The only problem I’ve encountered is the lack of usb ports.

Great all round product. I Especially like that the computer is shipped with very little “extra” software to try and uninstall.

This Lenovo is a solid work laptop. Very thin and very light. Fast to boot up with the SSD and 8GB RAM. I have thrown quite a bit at it and it never hesitates. I purchased one for my college-bound son as well.
