A 4K monitor, especially one that is 24″, will change the way you view your computer… pun intended. Everything is beautifully crisp and it’s like viewing my digital photos for the first time all over again. And this monitor brings that too you at an affordable price and with great no-frills features. I love the menu design and the toggle that controls it. The stand is sturdy and the sleek. You have a VESA mount in the back (which is NOT obscured by the stand, enabling you to mount a book-shelf PC to the monitor). It’s just awesome! I’m not a fan of glossy bevels… but that’s nit picky. Other have complained about the matte screen. I can’t figure out why. Not everyone uses their monitor at 0200 playing video games in the dark. The screen does a good job of dealing with glare. Please note: 4K is new (relatively). A seamless user experience requires both Operating System and software compatibility and those are not yet ubiquitous. Things will get better with time, but know that some apps are not going to play nice with HiDPI yet. That’s not LG’s fault. Search the web to see how the apps you most care about react in a HiDPI environment. Then buy this monitor; you will not be disappointed!

Bought this 24 4K LG monitor for $259 to replace my 10 year old 20 Dell monitor (which still worked fine ..so go Dell). I wanted to see if a 4K monitor would provide a better (and larger) display….and it did. I am very satisfied with the display and the price, I have only had it one month so time will tell if its reliability will hold up

I do my photo editing on a mid-2015 4K Retina iMac. It’s an awesome tool for my work. I’d always wanted a companion monitor for the advantages of doing detail edits and seeing the results in context on a full few at the same time. I also wanted to be able to run my editing apps in full screen on one monitor and handle other tasks (music, playing some video, whatever) on the other monitor. Long story short… The Apple choices (Thunderbolt monitor) were incredibly expensive and discontinued right after I bought the iMac. 4K in TV’s wasn’t nearly as ubiquitous as it is today and forget about other computer monitors. So, this baby finally fell into my lap and I couldn’t be happier. It easily color profile matched to my iMac’s Retina display using a Spyder 5 elite calibrator. The calibrated profile is 99% sRGB (the iMac is 100), which is perfect because that is the color space I work in. The 24 size of the panel is great for my 21.5 iMac. My workspace is set up such that the LG is slightly further away, and I don’t perceive the size difference. When I want to take advantage of the extra size, I just get a little closer. The resolution, contrast, clarity and overall image quality is fantastic. It closely matches the slightly more pixel-dense Retina display on the iMac. LG’s claim of 250 mcd brightness might be a little optimistic. Mine came in at a max of about 210 on the calibrator. No biggie, as I keep my workspace lighting muted. Otherwise, it’s right on spec. I run the monitor primarily from the HDMI input (via the included HDMI cable), using an output on a dock on my Thunderbolt port. I run two Thunderbolt drives that don’t have daisy-chain capability, so TB ports are at a premium. Apple’s technology at the time only supports 4K/30Hz via the HDMI port, so if I have something that I need 60Hz refresh (video playback or lots of scrolling), I just disconnect one of the drives and use a (not included) miniDisplayPort to DisplayPort cable from an open Thunderbolt/mDP port on the iMac to the DP input on the monitor. At 4K/60 the playback is smooth and the scrolling is buttery just like on the iMac. Honestly I couldn’t be happier. tl;dr, Buy It. Pros: Size – 24 is a perfect match for my computer, Image Quality – outstanding color, resolution, consistency of backlighting, even the black levels though they don’t quite rival the Retina, they are quite respectable. Cons: It wasn’t made in 2015… 🙂 Features that it has that don’t matter much to me include FreeSync (not supported on my computer and I’m not a gamer), audio connections (I run a separate sound system). If your applications are similar to mine, I think you’ll find this the best option possible for a second monitor (or even a first – I’m talking to you new MacPro), just buy it already!

I bought the 24 inch LG 4k monitor a week or so ago. I am glad I did. I currrently have the um57- ultrawide monitor. Both monitors are solid. Though they could be made out of more solid parts. THey lack the flashyness of gaming monitors. But, for the price you cant beat them. The 4k monitor has freesync which is noticeable in game, plenty of quick user settings. overall I wont go back to a 1080 p monitor. Considering for $240 you can have a 4k

Using it for work and study. Works best with the display port cable.

I bought it a few weeks ago when my previous monitor died (not an LG) and really like the LG. The 4K wasn’t a requirement, but for only a little bit more money than other monitors, it was well worth it.

You might be worried of how cheap this display comparing to other options but worry not! this display uses a really good display unit from LG giving an amazing image quality and vivid colors, it stands out exactly to what it offer in every feature they listed, and with 180DPI it’s even possible to use it on x2 scale making text a sharper and better for people who uses this display for text purposes like programmers in my case, the only con in my opinion is it that it uses DisplayPort 1.2, which makes it impossible to connect more display on daisy chain with it offering the exact bandwidth needed for 4K display at 60FPS

Very happy overall, great product. Installation was a snap!

I bought this in September of 2018 and honestly has been the greatest monitor of all time I would buy monitors from LG again, because of the support they gave me whenever I broke it, they took the time to fix it and ship it in an orderly fashioned way. I also enjoy the FreeSync technology in this monitor for my pc with stutter-free mo screen tearing gameplay.

The screen quality is as good as the description implies. worked perfectly on various input resolution from 720p to 2160p.

I use it for a general purpose display, internet and some photo editing, not gaming. I wanted a 27″ 4K to enable larger, sharper text. I turned the brightness way down, 10-20% even in a room with daylight. This model isn’t the newest with the latest features, but does all that I need. Bought from MicroCenter on sale.

We bought this a few months for a location that needed a small display replacement for viewing TV. The trouble is finding a small display that always has HDCP2.0+ and this fits the need. Would love to have discrete IR controls, but looks good, takes up little space and most importantly means all video distributed thru the AV system can be at 4K without compromising for a non-HDCP2.0 compliant display.

LG definitely delivers when it comes to high-quality monitors.
