The silver GP65NS60 Portable USB External DVD Burner and Drive from LG allows you to read and write on DVDs and CDs with your computer. This drive connects to your Windows or Mac computer via USB. It features 8x DVD and 24x CD read and write speeds. To offer a better movie experience while watching a DVD, this drive provides Silent Play technology, which automatically adjusts the read speed to reduce its noise level. In addition, this drive supports TV connectivity with optional hardware. It also has Jamless Play so you can watch videos continuously by skipping over erroneous data or damaged areas of the disc that may stop your video. Furthermore, this drive can use M-Discs (DVD+R SL only), which provides data protection by using a patented rock-like recording surface instead of organic dye to etch your data onto a disc. Along with the drive are software programs that include Power2Go, PowerBackup, YouCam, LabelPrint, and Norton Internet Security (60 days).

pro: slim design, slides right underneath the front of my pc out of the way until I need it. Operates as claimed. con: disc is hard to get in and out of it, very flimsy. cable is way to short, had to buy an extension. final thought: okay for once in a while use. if you need to use it a lot, don’t buy it.

The performance of this drive is good. the only problem I have is that my HP notebook computer has only 1 USB port so I need to use a hub to connect multiple devices. I cannot use my wireless mouse and this CD drive because the computer doesn’t have enough power to drive both. Larger more robust laptop computers would probably be fine.

I have hundreds of CD’s I’m downloading to the my iTunes and hard drive. I have an HP All-In-One PC which has the DVD/CD drive on the right side of the monitor. For me it’s more convenient having the DVD/CD drive on the desktop. The only negative is the supplied USB cable is only 2 feet long and I had to use a 3 foot cable which I already owned.

I downloaded some music CDs that I bought years ago it work fine. I just got out of the hospital I haven’t had a chance to use it much. I bought a wolverine Saturn April 3 I sent the first one back because there is some stuff going on with it they sent me a new one and the same stuff is going on the second one so I’m not gonna send it back but I’m not gonna buy anything from you guys ever again you make it too difficult to return.

Used only once and worked well as a disc reader. Only concern, and may not truly be one, is burner is a bit light in weight. Doesn’t feel that durable, however, all remains to be seen.

The device was ready to be used right out of the box. Did not have to install any software. It comes with a CD containing some software. Did not have to use it. And it is compatible with Windows 10. Great job in making a copy of a DVD (personal DVD). Light and small does not take much space.Will recommend it.

I used this out of the box with a 2018 Mac Mini Core i5 without the need to drivers or any third party software. The write speed for CD-Rs seems fine via USB3-A connection. It would be nice to have a USB-C version.
