The silver GP65NS60 Portable USB External DVD Burner and Drive from LG allows you to read and write on DVDs and CDs with your computer. This drive connects to your Windows or Mac computer via USB. It features 8x DVD and 24x CD read and write speeds. To offer a better movie experience while watching a DVD, this drive provides Silent Play technology, which automatically adjusts the read speed to reduce its noise level. In addition, this drive supports TV connectivity with optional hardware. It also has Jamless Play so you can watch videos continuously by skipping over erroneous data or damaged areas of the disc that may stop your video. Furthermore, this drive can use M-Discs (DVD+R SL only), which provides data protection by using a patented rock-like recording surface instead of organic dye to etch your data onto a disc. Along with the drive are software programs that include Power2Go, PowerBackup, YouCam, LabelPrint, and Norton Internet Security (60 days).

Very light and compact, power sipper, means it only needs 1 USB cable to connect to a PC/MAC and draws enough power from there without the need of an additional USB cable or a separate power hub. Fast read/write speed. Comes with good included burning software.

Great value and product.

DVD burner is still a necessary evil. I keep it in case.
Halle Graham (verified owner) –
No issues. Works with DVDs and CDs out of the box.

This device is true plug-and-play. I got it since my 2019 iMac doesn’t have a CD writer, and I still need one. It’s much cheaper than Apple’s writer, it’s small, and it works with no drama.
Thurman D’Amore (verified owner) –
A little flimsy but does the job
Enrique Feil (verified owner) –
We needed a drive to load homeschool materials on our kids computers. The drive is a bit finicky with certain disks, even new ones, but it worked fine for our purposes.
Neha Kuhic (verified owner) –
good prive, quick installation, worked first try.
Hollis Nikolaus (verified owner) –
Really good value

I enjoyed the slim silvery exterior. The DVD for now works just fine, but I have not explored to many functions. The purchase was sensible as I bought a laptop without internal DVD reader. I believe it also gives additional flexibility of using it on different units.
Eusebio Beatty (verified owner) –
Works much better than the Samsung one which I bought and only works when it feels like.
Fredrick Reilly (verified owner) –
Plugged into my MacBook using usb and that’s it. Ripped a couple of CDs with no problem so far. The tray is a little thin, so must be careful when putting disc in.
Elna Moore (verified owner) –
Does everything you expect it to do.

The dvd drive arrived in 3 days. Even the snow and ice didn’t stop the delivery from making the expected date. The dvd drive is light and all I had to do was plug it into my usb drive on the pc that didn’t have a dvd drive and everything work fine.
Reagan Stokes (verified owner) –
Easy to use, and works well.

I have purchased multiples of these drives. They work so well and are such a bargain that I have spares wherever I might need them. They work as advertised and have always been reliable. They are very blow profile/slim and the door/tray mechanism works smoothly and reliably. The only thing that might make them even more user friendly would be for them to have a USB C type port.

Bought this to avoid spending $80 on an Apple SuperDrive. It hooks up perfectly and plays DVDs with no problem. I ripped several audio CDs to iTunes and all went smoothly. It is built a bit flimsy, with a tray that pops out to insert the disc, but it works just fine for $30!

Have had this for just about a year now. Wasn’t thrilled when I first got it – very flimsy and delicate, and not operating quietly, but it did allow me to import CDs to my Mac and seemed to do a good enough job of that. However I have likely only used it a dozen or so times in that year, and tonight it failed. Partway through an import it began sticking, making a repeating Chu-chuunga sound until manually aborting the operation. Anyone have tips for a better quality burner?
