We have received many compliments on our lights this year. They are very bright cool white lights and the cascading lights give it a little something extra. So far we have had them up for a few weeks with no issues. We are very pleased with them.

Lights are nice. Just FYI, lights show up cheaper at stores where it is unavailable and more expensive from stores that have it in stock. Go figure. Customer service wouldn’t do a price adjustment when the 29.98 lights turned to 32.98 when added to cart. Beware and check your receipts bc home depot could be cheating you. I had no idea I was charged 32.98 until after I picked up my purchase.

I bought 16 of these and by the end of the season 3 of them failed. They are pretty but not over the top and not worth the expense and certainly not if they are going to fail so quickly. I don’t have time to go on a roof and diagnose or reconnect or change fuses ever few weeks. It’s a shame, I was hoping for better considering the amount of money I spent.

I would rank these in terms of effect for the dollar as fair. That is why I recommend them with notes on expectations. They are not what I would call something that makes me go wow that is gorgeous. But the for the cost when compared to other waterfall type lights they are OK. I’ve looked at the C9 retrofit style socketed waterfall lights and they are pretty pricey. I have a lot of C9 lights myself so I’m not averse to spending the dollars on lights if I like them. I think these would appeal to a lot of folks. The good: they put out a good amount of light and the motion effect is fair. Not great but fair. Given the relatively low cost of these I think it is in line with the price. Some may think $30 for an 8 ft string of lights is a lot. But it really is not for the waterfall type motion lights. I know because I’ve looked at a lot of them over the years. The not so good: The way these are designed the light is pretty directional. That is if one of the motion lights is twisted facing away from you then the light does not show up well at all. That is the biggest drawback I see. Granted the much more expensive C9 waterfall lights sold by the bulb suffer from this same issue. And to me the motion effect does not just jump out at you. It gets a bit washed out by the regular icicle lights that are mixed in. I won’t be rushing out to buy enough to go all around my house. But that is in part because I already put up over 60,000 lights and on my roofline I already have both traditional white icicle lights as well as C9 multicolor lights. They work in unison being driven to music with the rest of my lights by over 2 dozen 16-channel computer driven controllers that synchronize the light to music driven out through both speakers and an FM transmitter. I easily have over $30K invested in my Christmas display. If I really liked these lights the cost would not stop me from buying a lot of them. But I think they are just not for me not because I don’t think they are worth 30 bucks a string but because I just don’t see them meshing well with my display at least not in a large quantity. But I am at the point where I am very selective about what I add to my display. If I were to use more of these I would be putting them not on my roofline but hanging from the branches of a mimosa tree that spreads out its boughs which are leafless in the winter. I have some similar to these that I use there now and that is why these caught my eye as a possible alternative. My existing ones are not the motion type but I do have a controller blinking 5 sets of them in a pattern to the music with the rest of my display. As for worthy of the cost time will be a factor that determines that because if they only hold up a season or two that is a killer on value. So we’ll see. I might get a few more to try in my mimosa tree. I have gone to using sealed commercial lights for the bulk of my display so I don’t use a huge number of these retail store lights. But I can see giving 5 strings of these a go in the trees perhaps used in a location where I can run them static since blinking them on and off to music would kill the motion effect. If you are not going insane with lights like I am and you like white lights these might be for you. I’m largely a multicolor kind of guy. But I have some of everything in my mix which is spread out over a few acres. One thing to note is you must support these very well around the motion lights because they are pretty heavy. But that should not be a surprise to anyone. I already support all my C9’s with a clip on every bulb and I make my own custom hangers for my icicle lights. So I would not think twice about doing a little extra to support these well. The same would be true of any waterfall effect motion light. They are all heavy.

The Lightshow 78-light white shooting star icicle LED string light set with cascading icicle lights is very bright… The cascading, shooting star LED Icicles give motion and a different look to the set.. Make sure that the front of the icicles are point in the direction for proper shooting star effect… Also the additional lights on the strings connecting the shooting icicles provide extra brightness.

The light set I received is 8 feet long. Icicle lights are cool but the hanging icicles kicks that up a few notches. In a 8′ set, there are 5 long icicles at 16″ intervals. Each one is 10 inches long. I think these are large but if used on a 2 story house they would look amazing. I included a short video of the icicles sequencing. Love it. Cant wait to buy another 40 feet or so of these light.

We had a very similar product to this already and have been looking for additional strands for a couple years. This product is close and not quite as good, but will fit the bill. The icicle LED’s are random and look OK but they aren’t as vivid as the rest of the lights. The remaining lights are a bit bright and overshadow the “dripping” icicles. Also, our other icicle lights twinkle slowly rather than being on all the time, so they just have a little more pizzazz than these. The price of $30 per string was definitely more than I would have paid if I had to buy enough for the whole house. That’s very steep in my opinion.

We normally do the standard Christmas light icicles on the house but wanted to try something different this year. Saw these LightShow 75-Light White Shooting Star Icicle LED String Light with Cascading Lights and decided to give them a shot. The icicles are 11 inches long and spaced about every 20 inches. Between the icicles are 2 various lengths Christmas bulb strands. The led color is 5000k daylight equivalent. The twinkle in the icicle starts from the top and goes down. They stay dimly lit between twinkles and the cycle of the first 2 then the last 3. The led strip on the inside of the icicle only illuminates from one side.
