Got after Christmas when marked down. Bought a few.A real game changer. No more single color fixtures. Just toggle from one color to another. Or choose multiple color(s).Having an app vs a separate remote control unit is nice. Never worry about losing it.App was easy to maneuver and intuitive. The available display choices are excellent So many of them.Gave a couple units to others as gifts.

They are easy to set up and use. The lights are much better with no ambient light. Other Christmas lights, out side lights, stone on house washed out the lights and made them barely visible .

I’ve been using this Kaleidoscope Applight for about a month now. It provides a swirly pattern in multiple colors. It is not the strongest of lights but I think that is because it was designed to be part of a full Applight display. I’ll purchase additional laser lights and hanging lights to add to my light show. Then combined with the kaleidoscope I’ll have the interesting show I’m look to achieve. This light works well and the iPhone app is pretty easy to use. If you buy this alone, you may be underwhelmed, but as part of a full light display, it looks pretty cool.

Lights are nice but the effects and themes do not match with the other lights that I have so I was a little disappointed in that. By themselves they are a nice touch and i placed 2 of them about 15 feet from the house and they covered a good area and showed up nicely in a well lit area

This one has me a bit iffy. The ‘light shows’ just don’t come off as being very different from each other. They all seem to look like a water reflection on my house. It’s pretty, but not “Wow” look at that! All in all, I do think that the biggest disappointment is the ‘app’ that controls the unit. There is no “on off timer”. It also does not have a long reach for the BlueTooth signal. This means that you literally must be outside and near the item(s), to turn it off and on. Every. Single. Night. Because I also have a Lighted Christmas tree lawn decoration by the same company outside next to the light globe, I can definitely see that the signal to both is weak. Thankfully in my case, one single app controls them both, but either way, no matter what, I still have to be outside next to the item, in order to control them. For me, this just adds an extra set of ‘things to do’ on my daily schedule – this is not something that I like to tackle at a busy time like Christmas. I had to actually set up a nightly reminder on my phone, just to remind me to turn this off and on every night. Having a built in timer already in the app, really would have made a great deal of success in gathering a better product rating from me. The thought of having to run outside at 11pm in my PJ’s, with my iPad in hand just to turn the units off, isn’t something that I look forward to doing, (especially for the next 30+ nights of a long holiday season). No matter what I tried, it just cannot be controlled from inside of my house it doesn’t matter how close I am, (the tree is right outside of my living room window with the light globe next to it), it cannot be turned on or off, unless I’m literally standing outside with the controlling app device.Another down point was the quality of the plastic spike made to hold up the unit in the ground. When I was installing the device in place outside on my lawn, the plastic spike wasn’t strong enough to go into what I consider to be rather soft ground, and unfortunately it broke. I live in Georgia, and we never have to deal with frozen ground temps – in fact it was 61 degrees outside when I was setting things up. It only took a small bit of pressure to snap the spike. This was a tad bit upsetting because, the spike is actually attached to the ‘ball’ adjuster that helps the unit to be set into place, for the focus points onto your building/house. Lastly, I was hoping that I’d be able to leave a simple static ‘glow’ of lights onto the house. This wasn’t possible. This was odd because one of the “options” in the menu is “STEADY”. I’m not sure how else to read into the word “steady” except that it would hold steady and not move – it still moves. My other options are: “Glimmer”, “Starry Night”, “Light Show”, “Cascading” and “Sparkle”. Steady seems like it would mean static or not moving, but it still moved. There also wasn’t much of a difference in how the lights appeared to shine onto my house – in all honesty, from inside my home, it sort of reminded me of a bunch of Emergency Vehicles parked outside. As far as lighting up the outside of my home, I do believe that I’ll be looking into getting a laser light show device – perhaps it will work better in conjunction with the glimmering lights globe – unfortunately, even if it does, it will not stop the constant need of having me going both inside and outside, just to turn the globe (and tree), both off and on every night. In the age of Smart Phones, WiFi, Doorbells that can show you who is at your door while you are at work, and other helpful gadgets, it seems a bit strange where here we are on the cusp of 2017, and I must physically make sure that I turn this unit off and on every night, or else they don’t work. Having a timer built into all things, seems to make the most sense of making things easy – why this device doesn’t have an auto on/off feature, is a bit of a head scratcher – especially since it is controlled with an “app”.

While this light is well-suited for outdoor/indoor holiday lighting, our LED kaleidoscope projection light found its way into the rec room as a DJ light for our dance party room. Slight mounting modification made it a fun addition to DJ lights already installed. The box notes 49 light effects and 40 foot projection. The download of the app onto iOS iPhone was easy and the app is easy to navigate and select your favorite pre-set light effect. Once selected, you can lock it in so the light defaults every time back to that effect. My test setting is in a 12’x12′ room with multiple DJ lights, white ceiling and turquoise walls. I thought the effects are dazzling but think the light was not as bright as expected. So While Its recommended based on ease and uniqueness, I think I would set them much closer to the house or projected target than the max 40′ range the box notes.

With this light I was able to quickly decorate the entire front of the house; much quicker then hanging lights. Also when this is under a tree *while the leaves are still on it makes the tree look really cool. The app was easy to setup and runs on blue tooth so there really is no configuration so to speak. Once installed they showed up on the app so I could select the pattern I liked. Not sure how far it works with my phone and the light about 30 feet from the house I can configure it and turn them on or off. There are not as many patterns, I wised they would line up better with the configurations available on the light string and tree from the same company.

I also have the C9 app lights to go along with my projection spot light. Just simply download the app lights app while you are installing and follow the on screen instructions to pair to your lights. I love the different lighting effects. In my opinion this is great for a smaller home so that I can show the effects on my garage door. I can have a new effect each day! My only gripe is the stake. The stake should not be put in the ground when it is frozen. I put the stake in on a rainy day when the ground is moist. Also since the until is plastic do not use a hammer or mallet. Plan on pushing the stake in the ground or digging a small hole.

Easy to install outside (but do it before the ground freezes!) Has to be fairly close to the object, they say 10-15 feet, which is about right. The further away the more diffused the light. The bluetooth connection and app is fabulous, very easy to set up. I have 2 projector lamps running on it. Quality of the light: We used the white on white, very subtle, not gimmicky or “Las Vegasized”. Looks very pretty during and after the snow fall. You can go with more colors, flashing screaming “Look at me!” So either way you are covered 🙂

This projection spotlight of kaleidoscope colors is colorful but not really as I expected. We first tested it inside on the ceiling when we set it up with the app on my phone. It was beautiful, but when we placed it outside to project on the front of the house with our Christmas decorations, I didn’t care for it as much. The colors seem to be muted and not so sharp and vibrant. Setting up the app on your phone is fairly easy. This unit has the 49 effects, which sounds like a lot, but is actually doesn’t give a large variety to choose from. After the holidays we are going to try using it on the ceiling of our patio enclosure where I think it will look really nice.

When I looked at the included instructions, I saw that they use the same app as another Christmas light, so I already had it on my phone. At this point, I haven’t changed the default pattern though as I really like the multiple rotating, changing colors. There is a plastic stake included that fits into the back that you then stick into the ground. The spot light projects many, moving, colorful dots on your wall, inside or out. If you were to use it inside rather than out, you could stick the stake into a houseplant that has a solid base to support it. I love the constantly moving lights & can’t wait to put it out in the yard for the holidays. If you enjoy colorful lighting, this is for you.

Having chosen to upgrade our holiday light decorations to LED was a big choice. Mainly because of the high initial upfront cost. We had previously purchased an AppLight tree that was very cool to use and change colors and patters. This projection spot light does the same. You can change the unit to a number of color combos and patterns. App takes a little time to figure out, but not hard. Wish it was a touch brighter, throw is about 15ft.
