Installation is simple and this is a pretty dynamic light. My wife thinks it is a bit over the top, but I like it. as it gives off lots of twinkling lights on a Christmas tree.It is a pretty big star, this topper is 12 inches tall and 9 1/2 inches wide. So you need a decent size tree and some ceiling clearance. The topper includes 2 Velcro straps to hold it in place. The center of the topper has a plastic ball with lights that turn inside, kind of like the yard lights on a stake that you put in the ground and point towards your house that swirl lights and/or figures on the house. While some of the light comes through the hole in the front of the star, the majority of the lights swirl on the ceiling. It looks pretty neat in the dark. It is not a traditional topper, but is fun if you want a light like this.

The (18.50 IN. LIGHTED PROJECTION TREE TOPPER- KALEIDOSCOPE SET) looks nice. My tree isn’t up yet so I tested it by setting it onto a peg to see how sturdy it is. Judging by the weight and the way it fit onto the peg. I believe it will be sturdy on the tree. He kaleidoscope affect is beautiful. It looks like stars on my ceiling. It also lights up the room to a degree. The star is beautiful. To use you just plug in and your ready.

I love this tree topper. it is slightly heavy, and complicated to get on the tree straight but it comes with sturdy Velcro to attach to the tree. motor does not make a peep even after leaving it on longer than the instructions recommended.

Bright and beautiful with a myriad of dazzling effects. Lightweight enough for most trees, and the pole that attaches to the tree top with Velcro straps (attached) add even more security. Very easy to understand instructions, but I will admit I had a really hard time removing the extension rod for storage until the upcoming Christmas season. I called the Manufacturer and even the clerk agreed, there were no instructions for removal. I was finally able to remove it using the tip of a letter opener. I was afraid of either breaking it totally, or rubbing off the glitter application on the exterior of the tree topper. I would strongly recommend only inserting as far as the CLEAR tip is, and stop there. I was very delighted once it was lit up, and also quite delighted with the true Kaleidoscope effect on the ceiling in my family room. I felt that it had a really quiet operation, and there was no discernible noise at any time. Very pleased with the overall quality, and I know the family will be just as pleased come Christmas time. >Note: Be sure to save the box for storage reasons.

Very nice tree topper. It sparkles and sparkles! It puts out a very bright and white light that covers the whole room. It is well made and it has a piece to put on top of your tree to hold it in place. It is a good size and it’s not too heavy so that it doesn’t wobble on top of the tree. It has a very nice light pattern that I enjoy. It even rotates the lights so they are dispersed all over the place. Very nice tree topper.

This Christmas tree topper by Gemmy Industries is star-shaped, lightweight, and really pretty cool. It projects a motorized, moving, scintillating light pattern across the ceiling and upper walls that resembles rippling water (the packaging says it’s kaleidoscopic, though technically it isn’t). It uses 120 VAC, and is for indoor use only. The form-fit packaging is sturdy, and will protect the topper safely during storage in the off-season. I really like this a lot, and it will sure liven up my living room for the upcoming holiday season.

When it comes to decorating a Christmas tree, my thought is, the more lights the better. I love lots of twinkling lights on a Christmas tree. I saw this topper and thought I would give it a try. Luckily my Christmas tree is a pretty decent size. This topper is 12 inches tall and 9 1/2 inches wide. On a smaller tree it might be too much. It comes with a stake that you put the topper onto and then fasten the stake to the top of your Christmas tree with two Velcro straps. In the center of the topper is a plastic ball with lights that turn inside, kind of like the yard lights on a stake that you put in the ground and point towards your house that swirl lights and/or figures on the house. While some of the light comes through the hole in the front of the star, the majority of the lights swirl on the ceiling. It looks pretty neat in the dark. I had read some reviews from a year or two earlier that indicated that the motor that turned the lights was noisy. I did not find this to be a problem with mine so I’m assuming that that issue has been resolved. If you like lots of twinkling lights, and want a dramatic addition to your Christmas tree, I would definitely give this a try. It is a bit pricey for a tree topper but it’s not an ordinary topper either.

If you like moving lights on your Christmas tree, this is the topper for you, unless you have a small tree. This decoration measures at 12 inches tall and 9 1/2 inches wide, so it’s rather large. Setting it to your tree’s top isn’t difficult, just wrap the Velcro straps around the pinnacle.As for durability, keep the box it comes in for storage and be careful when removing it after the season – it is definitely not meant to take any sort of abuse.The swirling kaleidoscope effect is nice, but I do wish the motor was not as noisy. It has an electric grinding noise that is certainly not quiet.Overall, pretty to look at, but could definitely bother some with its noise.

The Xmas tree Angel takes a well deserved vacation.Like the other ornaments on the holiday tree, the angel needed a rest. I haven’t had a star topper for a while since the incandescent lights burned out or melted my trusty STAR topper.While the traditional Xmas angel will still stay in rotation, this new STAR of the Xmas season will help add verity to the other classic tree decorations.What I like:1. This Kaleidoscope Tree Topper is put together well, but I believe that the thin plastic material will not survive very many attaching to and taking off the tree cycles before needing some superglue to re-attach some of the more flimsey pieces. I like the design and the “disco ball” ligh display but I would have liked it better if it was made with stronger material and had the option to select changing colors, but that part is just a personal preference.
