We looked at several different options before deciding on these. Our initial purchase of 10 light strings pretty much covered the areas we wanted to illuminate. After stringing all 10 of the them together all over the front and top of the house we were excited to turn them on. Each of the boxes came with a remote control so I grabbed one of them and started pushing buttons. No matter what I did they were different colors and wouldn’t sync. That is when my wife had the brilliant idea to READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. Lo and behold we found that since each string is remotely connected I had to stand in a spot that would reach all of them together. After a little experimenting I found a spot in the yard that would reach all of my strings. Not hard to do!! These lights are awesome. They have so many different color combinations and patterns. Perfect for our needs. Just remember to pull the antenna out on the remote control and stand in a place that reaches every strand. Otherwise you will end up like the negative commentors that didn’t read the instructions with a string not syncing.

Very nice lights. You can string together up to 12 sets, which is very long. HD has carried these for a few years now, so great if a set breaks and you don’t have an extra. Of the seven sets, one finally failed its fourth season. 3 lights wouldn’t light up…could not remove the bulbs even with pliers, so I believe they are not changeable which is why I rated them average.
