With 16 Power over Ethernet enabled ports, the LGS318P 18-Port Smart Gigabit PoE+ Gigabit Switch from Linksys helps to eliminate the need to run an additional power supply to your network components. The “plus” gives you roughly double the power per port while remaining backwards compatible with the traditional 802.1af PoE networking standard. In addition to Power over Ethernet functionality, this network switch features 18 Gigabit Ethernet ports along with a forwarding rate of 26.79 Mpps, a switching capacity of 36 Gbps, an 8K MAC address table, and 9K Jumbo Frame support.

It’s sort of strange, they give you 16 ports POE+ which can take up to 30watts but only give 125w total, which means if you’re running full POE+, you can only have 4 devices… so defeats the point of 16 ports POE+.

Used for a high end network camera installation, with cameras streaming 1080p continuously. Chose this switch based on gigabit speeds, solid switching capacity and buffers, and an abundance of PoE power (not cutting it close on PoE budget if more cameras were added). Didn’t take advantage of any of the management features, as it wasn’t needed. Plug and play, and it is performing flawlessly. Fan is rather loud, and runs continuously, so be aware – not something you want on your desk. Would definitely use again.

Purchased from B & H around the first of the year for a job that got postponed till this weekend. Switch works no Poe The worst part about this defective switch is the abuse linksys support gives you. Spent hours on a chat, two phone calls over 20 minutes each. Still no resolve. If you buy this switch pray it works. I don’t have time for this I’m turning Case number over to company lost & recovery department.
