I was looking for a large (7 quart +) enamel caste iron Dutch oven and all of the usual choices were either too small and/or insanely expensive. And with a variety of complaints like chipping enamel. Then I read the reviews on the Lodge 7.25, which were all stellar. For 90 bucks, this piece is fantastic and just as well made as Le Creuset which would have been 4x the price. So I took a chance and bought two of them! For $180 I have these pieces which will easily outlive me. And to find this at Home Depot was all the more surprising. Three things I highly recommend as with all enamel cookware:Use only wood or plastic utensils to avoid possible scratches on the enamel.DO NOT pour cold water into the pot just after use. It will damage the enamel.Either wait until it cools to room temperature or pour the hottest water out of your tap to soak it.Use only nylon mesh scrubbers (no metal) to clean and regular dishwashing liquid. No Ajax.You won’t be disappointed. And given fragile trade relations with China I would buy this ASAP.

Package arrived well packed and within the time frame anticipated. Love the oven as I do a lot of baking, on the gas stove top, in it. It is taking me some time to fine tune temperatures and time frames. But that is something everyone must do. So far I have made baked beans, a cobbler and cornbread in my oven. I do not have to contend with the “iron” flavor that is apparent to me, when I use my non -enamel Dutch ovens.

This cast iron oven is fantastic. The package arrived on time and in perfect condition. I have used my cast iron oven twice since making the purchase in October, 2020. It prepares food very well on the stove top as well as in the oven. There was no major sticking of the food to the interior ( honey baked ham which was quite sticky with honey, spices and brown sugar) and a sauce which required several minutes of saute`ing, followed by several hours of simmering. The lid fits tightly, preventing overflow of liquids and also allowing the outside of of the oven to remain clean. The handles are sturdy and the color I selected; Red coordinates very well with other kitchen appliances. The sale price was so attractive I felt I had to make the purchase. So far I have nothing negative to say about the product. I should mention, I made the mistake of purchasing a 9lb shoulder ham with a bone which was not deep enough to allow the lid to fit properly. I had to make adjustments but that was on me, not the product. The overall performance of the oven is fantastic as I mentioned. The oven meets my expectations and I would highly recommend it.

This Dutch oven works very well and seems to be very well made. The large handles made me feel more secure in my grip when handling it while it was hot. I am glad I chose this over the much more expensive brand (reviews I read said there was little difference). Also, purchasing this through Home Depot was a lot less expensive than at other stores I checked.
