What a beautiful pan. I cooked an 8 pound chuck pot roast in it, hassle free. It was delicious! Searing the roast on all four sides was easy thanks to all the room in the pan. Once in the oven and 3hours later OMG it looked fantastic. Best of all clean up was a snap. An easy clean and once dried and ready to put away it looked brand new as if just came out the box. If your looking for a Dutch Oven this 7 Quart pan is one to check out.

Please be warned though that this is a 7QT oval dutch oven, not 7.5QT as the product name implies. Beautiful cast iron vessel that performs as well as the higher french brand name. Love to use this for all types of soups, sauces and braising. The oval shape makes it especially nice for braising.

The Lodge Dutch Oven is perfect for making oval shaped bread loaves. Bread comes out beautifully since the pot and lid retains heat and the enamel coating helps keep the loaves from getting too dark (which happens in regular cast iron). It gives bread really nice oven spring. I am very pleased with this purchase.
