Wowser! This pan is super versatile, really it is two pans in one. Lovely deep bottom pan perfect for a deep casserole and the lid flips over to use as a frying pan. The ears on the opposite side of the handle make it easy to move around. The pan is quite heavy and extremely well made. I seasoned it first and then made a noodle casserole with absolutely no sticking.

I got this grill pan with frying pan lid for my teens to use for campfire cooking experiments. When cooking in or over a campfire, always have a SAFE method for removing the hot pot. A clever guest resorted to using a shovel to remove the pot from the cinder block amidst the campfire.Do NOT buy iron cookware unless you (a) have strong arms and wrists, and (b) don’t mind scrubbing scrubbing scrubbing. The teens misunderstood a cooking direction (liquid ingredient goes on the BOTTOM, then cake mix on top!), with the result that there was quite the carbon encrustation to soak & scrub away. And the chemistry of dishwasher soap will not result in good things for your iron pot.I recommend buying a stainless steel chain mail pot scrubber (got mine from the online behemoth); it helps minimize the temptation to use dish soap, which will get absorbed and affect the taste of your next stew.

What can one say…If you want absolutely the best in cast iron pans, you don’t need to look any further than anything made by Lodge! Hands down, the best you can find. Heavy castings made in the USA!This pan is listed as a combo cooker. The 3.2 quart cooker has a lid. The lid doubles as a shallow skillet or griddle. Both are factory seasoned.These pans will last you a lifetime with the simple, proper care.Very, very nice to own.Highly Recommended!!!

This is a great, high quality piece of cookware. First, I LOVE cast iron. It’s one of the few things in life that gets better and better with time. As long as it’s taken care of properly, it will last forever. This is not my first Lodge piece; I purposely choose lodge because my past experience (as well as this one) has shown me high quality, made in the USA. Be sure to keep it seasoned and oiled (check Lodge’s website for more info). However, if you’re like me and can be careless from time to time, it won’t be ruined. Just scrub and season again.PROS: Great depth to the pan- we’ve already made a number of stir fries in this. It comes with a second piece that can fit on top as a lid, or be used as a frying pan (great for eggs!). Sturdy. It comes seasoned with instructions on care.CONS: heavy (but that’s expected with cast iron). Different cleaning routine that your usual stainless pan.
