We use it to make pizza, grill steak , as well as heat up frozen prepared food. By avoiding dripping into the grill that causes flare-ups, the food is cooked more evenly. A little heavy to carry back and forth, but it is expected for cast iron material. In general, we are happy with the purchase.

Good product, it’s real cast Iron it’s just very narrow and I really wish they would make a skillet that is wider and longer than these measurements and it’s the reason why I took one star off. The heat distributes evening and works just like a regular cast iron product.

When I got my new cooktop, I decided to buy a griddle and I’m so glad that I did. I choose Lodge because of it’s reputation and the fact that it is a long-time family owned US company. I use it all of the time. My husband watched a video on the best way to make a burger, and cast iron won out. I immediately decided to try it. 4 min on each side and it was perfect. It easy to clean.I let it cool off then wipe it with a paper towel, wash it with hot water (and a metal scrubber if there is anything that won’t just rinse off) and dry with a paper towel. I only found two issues with the griddle. It is heavy. I would say about 30 lbs. and for this 72 year old lady, that is heavy. Second, when I use it I have to remember to turn on the stove fan or it sets off the smoke alarms. If I forget, the smoke alarms remind me to turn on the fan. LOL
