I have 2 of these that I use. I bought it for the soft touch since I have tendonitis in my left hand. Helps a lot not having to hit the keys hard. Not sure why more keyboards aren’t built this way (besides built-in to a laptop)

I edit photo files under low light the illuminated keyboard is a necessity. The Logitech K740 Illuminated Keyboard has a great touch with what I feel is the optimum depth of key movement.

For years, I have been looking for a well made illuminated keyboard. Logitech seems to fit the bill well with this model. It has a fine touch and makes prolonged typing and data input much easier. Enjoy, enjoy.

I use this keyboard primarily to play games and code – I really appreciate the short key throw (akin to a notebook, for a similar typing experience) and slim profile. They did make some modifications to the standard keyboard layout, though, including relegating the right-click key to function-printscreen.

I was looking for a sleek, yet simple illuminated keyboard and this is exactly what I got. Other illuminated keyboards tried too hard to look cool and ended up looking like something out of a B sci-fi movie from the 70s. I didn’t install the drivers for it as Logitech is notorious for bloated drivers (the drivers were 85 megs). Instead I installed a free program called AutoHotKey and was able to use that to program the media keys. Even without drivers most of the media keys actually work, but you can’t reprogram them. It feels great to type on and looks wonderful on my desk.

I’m an early riser and my computer room doesn’t have alot of windows. Squinting at my old keyboard every morning was getting to my old eyes and did nothing for my disposition. Since I purchased the illuminated Logitech keyboard I can sit down with my first cup of coffee and a nice glow under every key. Sooooo much easier on the eyes! No more strain, no more squinting, and I wouldn’t live without it. My daughter is getting one for Christmas this year and I would recommend this wonderful product to everyone.

I really like the soft touch of this keyboard. The keys light up very clearly. I’m glad I bought this!

It is very easy to type with, it almost wants you to keep typing. I have not had any strain or wrist fatigue yet. I am not the fastest teletype, but with this keyboard I make less mistakes. The keys are large and back-lit, making it easy to find the key. Even for gaming, I am very impressed with the way I can naturally play the game and not look at the keyboard all the time.

My mother and i each have one. It is helpful both during the daylight hours and at night. Those who use laptops with lighted keyboards will understand the help the illuminated keyboard affords.

Wireless is a nice idea, but honestly, not many of us walk around the room with the keyboard under our hands. I was willing to give up the portability for reliability, and this one is certainly that. The keyboard default setting is backlit, however you can opt to cut the intensity or turn it off altogether. The newer small footprint processors from Dell have a total of 10 USB ports, so it was no sacrifice to give one up for this. Even if you are thinking of going wireless, you’ll still need to devote a USB slot for the transmitter. Now I don’t have to worry about battery power or if I’ve exposed the keyboard to enough sunlight. There’s more important things to worry about than that. Keyboard strokes are sure and comfortable. Spacing is perfect, being wider than what you’ll experience with most 15 laptops. For the price, this is an excellent option.

The illumination makes late night use a breeze. Setup was easy.

I can see what I’m typing again! No more shadows from my hands as I type. On screen displays and audible alerts for caps lock on/off, excellent F key functionality and silent key strokes help make this keyboard worth every penny.

This keyboard is outstanding, I bought it to treat myself as I spend a large part of my day typing. I’ve done the microsoft comfort curve keyboard and thought i liked it until i tried this keyboard. I was blown away at the weight of the keys, meaning the stroke is firm but not too firm. As others have mentioned it is nearly silent when typing. I spend alot of time sitting on conference calls and i always had to type very soft (not everyone adheres to this) but with this keyboard i don’t have to change anything. The backlight wasn’t part of the consideration of my purchase, it’s kinda cool but I’ve never needed it. The one minor complaint and the reason i gave this a 4 instead of a 5, is that the keyboard is almost perfectly flat, the bottom row is raised on most of the keyboard, but the zero key on the number pad is almost flat. I do a lot of 10 key and i have made quite a few mistakes by trying to do the side thumb press when entering zero. I highly recommend this keyboard and is by far the best i’ve used for strictly typing. Another person said it almost makes you want to keep typing, thats true, I find myself enjoying typing emails with it rather than dreading doing the typing. Hope this helps someone make a decision.

Bought this Keyboard for my wife to use for data entry. She loves the touch of the keys and the fact you can adjust the keys brightness. She uses this keyboard on her laptop.Works great with her Logitech wireless mouse. Onlt have to have one driver for both devices. Great touch logitech. Only drawback with being powered by the USB port is you can’t use a keyboard from a non powered hub. I knew this before purchasing the keyboard so bought a 10 Port powered for all the other devices My wife likes to use.

Replaced a specialized editing keyboard with this one (I’ve long since memorized or customized my own shortcuts anyway). AMAZING keyboard! Easy to see during late night or early morning edit sessions. Easy keystrokes, fully-featured and takes up so little space. My hands and arms have been hurting a bit getting used to it but honestly I think it’s because I’ve had such a relatively bad keyboard for so long. I think it’s just my hands getting used to a GOOD keyboard! If I changed anything it would be the integrated palm rest, but it’s not terrible either (I just prefer my own gel palm rest but not a big deal). Easily the best keyboard I’ve ever owned in 20 years of computing.

This keyboard is especially nice to use in low-light situations. It’s very quiet and has a soft keyed feel. Haven’t figured out the ‘F’ keys yet, but it is new to me. I’m visually challenged and a poor typist, so it’s perfect.

After going through a few expensive Logitech wireless keyboards that require batteries (I’m really hard on them and type like I’m playing Mozart) I decided I still needed the quiet keyboard, which was wired, and the lightedKB was a bonus. It is quiet and I took mine home for midnight e-mails without turning on all the lights. I’m pleased and had work order one for me. Logitech makes the best KBs. The price of B&H was very competitive.

Great keys! The back-lit keys are nice. Ease of typing and overall great! Could have a larger Backspace button. Also, could be a little bit higher off the ground.
