The Logitech K800 Wireless Illuminated Keyboard is a backlit keyboard that is compatible with Windows-based PCs or laptops. The small USB receiver plugs directly into the USB port on your computer with Plug-and-Play ease, without the need for any software installation.
This keyboard offers laser-etched, backlit keys that allow you to type easily even in environments with low lighting. The backlighting is adjustable, and hand proximity detection means sensors detect your hands as they approach the keyboard to turn the backlight on and off.
The sleek, streamlined design takes up minimal space on your desk and wireless connectivity gives you long-range freedom. This keyboard also features Logitech’s PerfectStroke system so you can take advantage of comfortable, fluid, quiet typing. The K800 keyboard boasts a full-size layout so you can work quickly and comfortably, and it can be stored standing up to free up space on your desktop.

I fought with my old keyboard till the letters wore off and then bought this one. What took me so long??? It’s fabulous! My typing speed has increased and my hands are less tired at the end of the day. The keyboard has brightness settings that are sensor driven but the highest is an always-on setting. In my office lighting, it’s so easy to see. I loved it so much, I ordered one for everyone admin person in the office.

Yes, the Logitech K800 keyboard is decidedly a more desirable keyboard over those supplied by computer manufacturers which accompany their computers. This analysis, of course, depends on what one desires in a keyboard. If one has small fingers or desires a very compact keyboard, the K800 might not be a first choice. For others, it has everything including a great

This keyboard was a replacement for another Logitech wireless. I needed the lighted feature for my cramped desk area. I could never get light where I needed it without getting it where I didn’t want it! Now I have the best! I don’t think there is anything bad about this product, just a lack of knowledge on my part. I’m sure as I study the set up that I can make this serve all of my needs. keyboard

I’ve had this keyboard for about 2 weeks. It is very quiet when typing and the lighted keys are definitely a plus for me. Just what I needed for late night typing and no more searching for keys. Well lit and don’t have to charge it often.

After using this keyboard extensively for a week, I’m in love. No more sticking keys, no more squinting in the twilight (when I’m too engrossed to get up to turn on a light) and no more getting my foot caught in the cord. Setup was a snap, the keys are a generous size with a nice even feel when you tap. It’s not cluttered up with features I’d never use but it has everything I’d use every day. And, the shape is nice and straight forward, so my favorite wrist pad hugs it perfectly. My stress level has been reduced and keyboarding is fun again.

I accidentally damaged my 3-year-old K800 so I immediately ordered a new one because I had been very happy with it. But I notice a slight difference. On the new keyboard, the keys look the same, but the response is bit different. They make more noise, are more ‘rattle-y,’ and they don’t register input quite as well. I notice this most with the shift keys–they often do not register the shift. I have been using this new keyboard for four months and I’m still regularly missing caps. I don’t believe there is anything wrong with this keyboard, it appeared to be a brand new unit, I think Logitech just changed the key mechanisms a bit. So, be aware that if you order a new K800 the keys will respond slightly differently than the one you purchased a few years ago. Everything else seems to be the same. Good keyboard overall, and the key back-lighting is an excellent feature if you need it. The key response is still good….nice and ‘snappy’….it’s just slightly different than the older one and the shift keys do not register as reliably.

I love this keyboard even if it’s poorly made and breaks and dies. This is my fourth one. The key illumination is perfect for typing in dim light. The key feel and sound is soft and quiet, just right for me. Unfortunately, they seem plagued by longevity problems — how long should a keyboard last? These last about a year, tho I have to admit I’m not gentle with them. I have a brand new spare boxed in the closet…

The new redesigned K800 keyboard is very poor quality compared to the older model. I have an old one and that is what I expected to get. The new one is flimsy and the plus key sticks much of the time. The smooth feel of the keys is gone too.

As always, purchasing from B&H couldn’t be easier or faster. Product was packed to be damage-free upon arrival, and performed flawlessly. Logitech Unifying Receiver USB is fantastic, as it handles both the keyboard and my Logitech mouse.

For others, it has everything including a great feel to keystriking. It compares to the dasKeyboard which retails at more than 2x the price. The K800’s keyboard is illuminated whenever your hand approaches the keys–helpful in darker surroundings, but not too bright as to disturb a nearby person. This keyboard is wireless; therefore, recognize the need to change the battery every year.

I have been looking for years for an illuminated keyboard that would fit in my under drawer slide out tray AND NOT have the typical light spill around the key’s edges that the other four I have tried and hated over the years. This Logitech 800 is PERFECT!!! The letters only, not the keys are illuminated! Four levels of brightness and the lights are off until your hand gets very close to or touches the keyboard. The light circuit is adaptive and it took a few minutes of just sitting still, all lit up, for it to adapt to the light under the desk but then it worked PERFECT! Also the keys feel great! not too soft or hard to press. I am a big fan of the really old, deep press, IBM keyboards so for me to love these, almost, laptop type keys is saying something.. It’s been in use for many, many hours a day for about two WEEKS on MED brightness, it still shows FULLY CHARGED and I have yet to recharge it! I’ve been looking for this keyboard FOREVER! I’d have given it 10 stars but 5 will have to do!! Doug

The keyboard types well but the illumination option does not work(which is the main reason why I bought it). The Logitech software allows illumination by either pressing a key or by passing your hand above the keys. I prefer the first option since the software allows the keyboard to remain illuminated for a set time period adjusted through the software. However, this feature does not work. The keyboard always reverts back to the hand sensor mode. Logitech sent a replacement keyboard that also does not work, which leads me to believe this may be a software problem. I must say that Logitech was very proactive in handling the case at the beginning, but since the second keyboard has the same issue, they’ve dropped me like a hot potato. Are they working on resolving the defect? Who knows.

I use them mostly in the early morning before sunup. The idea is be able to use them in dim light without waking my mate.

We do a lot of streaming in a dark control room, and this keyboard allows me to easily see what I’m typing without needing lights overhead.
