Video produced by the Logitech C920s is sharp and clear. Zoom works well. The only issue is that an LED desk lamp in close proximity to the camera causes video flutter.

The auto-focus feature is very buggy and unreliable. I tested under varying lighting conditions, and even in what I would consider optimal lighting conditions, the auto-focus feature performed very poorly. When an object is held closely to the camera, most of the time it will not focus on it. If it does, it takes at least 10 seconds and when the object is removed, the camera often does not refocus, leaving everything blurry. To use manual focus, I would have to have their G Hub application open, which has a live video monitoring feed that can’t be turned off. For my use and setup, this is going to add an extra and significant draw on my CPU resources, as I already have several other applications running, like a virtual classroom app, a virtual camera app, a pdf viewer, and a web browser. Bottom line: it should work as intended. My previous Logitech webcam was replaced for this very reason, and I’m stuck with the same problem.

It does work well. However, its special software does not work on an M1 MacBook Pro. The normal Monteray System does support it. The only way that I could get it to work was to directly connect it to my MacBook. It did not work off a USB bus.

Camera quality is much better than the built-in camera on my laptop; the auto-focus works well and the image is crisp enough for online video calls. The sound quality is an improvement over the mic on my cheap wired headphones, but there is still some room for improvement in the sound. I find that I need to make sure I’m projecting my voice at the camera for sound to be the most clear. Even on the lowest settings, I’ve noticed that the auto-noise-filters for video call software (zoom, teams, etc.) completely removes my voice if I’m not speaking loudly. I would buy this again.

This is a nice webcam. The lighting is good. I was surprised by how well the mount works. It is configurable to sit on some really fat monitors and can also be made to stand on its own to some degree. It can rotate up and down A little bit which helps you get the angle you want. One important aspect to know about this webcam is that it zooms in on you more than a normal MacBook webcam would, so it will show your face more than your surroundings, which is a plus from my perspective. Two blue light indicator strips light up when the webcam is in use.

Maybe I am just not used to a different lighting system for a webcam, but this one seemed a tad harsh when I set it up. Also, and this is very specific to my situation, the way the camera stabilizes itself on the monitor is by a ‘foot’ on the back of the camera pressing against the back of the monitor. Well, it so happens that on my monitor, there is a deep groove right at that height, so it was a little tricky getting it stable. Never would have thought of that, so maybe best to check the monitor first.

Very easy to install. Very tiny and light-weight. But when I clipped it on only the camera worked right away, confusing me as to why the audio didn’t. To get auto working I had to .eventually restart my computer so that the app could choose the Logitech. Hope this saves you the hour-long chat with B&H I had!

Nice size, solid unit. Sits steadily atop my monitor with fine vertical adjustment. Nice camera cover for privacy. Super-easy set-up (set-up seems like an overstatement. I like that the field of view is narrower than my previous webcam – there’s no need to show the whole room. I thought that the video might be a little sharper – that’s my only negative thought.
