I had a Lufkin 25′ tape measure that lasted many years, so I decided to go with another Lufkin. The numbers on the tape are clear and easy to read, as one would hope. To make inside measurements, one must add 3 1/8″ to account for the size of the case. My old one needed to have an even 3″ added. Adding an extra 1/8″ is not rocket science, but is a potential source of error. Also the locking mechanism was quite stiff to start. It is a little easier now and hopefully will work better when it is broken in.
