My father was an old school traditional master carpenter and I grew up using Lufkin 6ft extension rules. I’m a senior citizen now with 60 years experience using them. I find the Lufkin rules made today are still pretty well made. They are perhaps not quite as precisely built as in the past, but still better than the competition – based on what I’ve seen in stores. For what it’s worth folding rules excel at inside measurements – exact distances between points. There are situations where they are far superior to tapes. But folding rules do not replace tapes, tapes are better for measuring long distances, so I use both. I’m amazed at how many younger carpenters and especially DIYers don’t use folding rules… Perhaps accurate measurements just don’t matter to some, or perhaps they just don’t know how to use them. Beats me.

No, Had to return them because they were “Outside’ Reading. Your web site does not distinguish between “Inside” or “Outside” Reading. I went by the picture you displayed of the ruler which is an “Inside” reading. Please fix your web site or include an order number for each type.
