I love this steamer! I’ve steamed various vegetables using one tier or all 3, but the thing that amazed me was the most perfect “boiled” eggs that I have ever made with it. I will never BOIL an egg again! It is versatile, easy to clean, stores efficiently and does a great job, 2 thumbs up!

Very nice steamer, I found the time to be limited (SET PROGRAMED TIME AND NO CUSTOM) so for that fact it gets my Good rating. I made rice in simply 1c rice, 1.1/2c water in the bowl. filled water, pressed the rice button and at the end of the cycle 40 or 50 minutes., we had nice fluffy brown rice. Clean up is great as the water for steam is covered by the drip bowl. you can add water from the side though the spout too for long steam times.Now for those program buttons, say you have corn for 12 minutes, set it all up, load steam basket and press the VEG button which is programed for 35 minutes (not actual times) so you have to use a timer. My old steamer has printed times on it for items and you turn the knob to that time and when done it binges. It’s a 3 Tier Steamer, does have seven programs and is 12 quarts in capacity. Some parts are dishwasher safe for easy clean-up, and the base only takes a quick rise as my old one had to be flushed as the drippings and juice’s mixed into the same water used for steam as the no drip bowl under the bottom basket. So you could have a meal, vegetables, meat, and rice up top steaming all at the same time with three baskets. plus the bowl for rice.

My wife is in love with this food steamer. She normally steams our veggies in a pot on the stove and sometimes they turn out quite soft and almost mushy because she is cooking several things at one. With this she just pops the food it and programs it can go about doing other things and not worry. The veggies came out perfect. It can also be used to cook rice but she hasn’t tried that yet. She is very happy with this and would recommend it if you prefer to steam you veggies.

I was able to cook salmon, wild rice and corn on the cob within 25 minutes and the flavors were outstanding & cooked nice and even from top to bottom.The digital control LCD display panel is as easy as pressing one of the seven display buttons depending on what you wish to choose for dinner.Honestly I thought Magic Chef was a vegetable steamer but the choices are endless from fresh to frozen vegetables, poultry, beef, rice and pastas, and even hard boiled eggs plus so much more conveniently in one 12 Quart 3 layered steamer.I also must add the Customer Service is Incredible if you have any questions. I am a very strong believer if I believe in a product the companies customer support that produces the product is as important in helping to answer or help with questions when needed.I will look for the emblem Magic Chef in other kitchen appliances in the future because I am sold on this steamer!

The Magic Chef food steamer was packaged very securely.I am not complaining about this but I actually had trouble removing it from the box.This is a good thing because it was unlikely to be damaged during shipping. It has three food baskets and holds 12 quarts, enough food for dinner guests. The LCD display has programmed times for various food items.So far I have used it to cook potatoes(yams and white potatoes) and they were done to perfection.The skins were softer than when cooked in a microwave.The rice bowl, food baskets, and steam bottoms are dishwasher safe. The steamer has a one year warranty. This is a great product.

Steaming is the way to go to keep the favors and nutrients in the food you are preparing to eat. This steamer is one of the best I have ever used! And for its price, there is almost nothing better out there. I can cook my whole meal with this steamer, never once needing to use my range top, oven or microwave. I love fresh, crunchy steamed vegetables and my green beans, broccoli, and asparagus turn out just great! Rice in the rice bowl came out perfect and not anything like how I try to do my best with other methods. Whole potatoes are yummy too. My chicken and salmon and shrimp were tender and juicy. Haven’t tried the hard boiled eggs yet but I’m anxious to. And the fact that this is done by just one machine all at the same time makes this a very smart and efficient kitchen appliance. The instructions, digital display, and buttons make meal preparation a breeze. Easy clean up and compact storage means it will be used more often too. With all the food trays, this would make a great present for a single person, a couple or a family. And for all that it does at its price, this really is a good idea for anyone!

After taking the unit out of the box… the plastic pieces felt a little flimsy. The instructions were few, but I did not expect much as it is a simple device. The unit stacks pretty high with multiple levels. When I first started it, it did not work. I had to run in two times before I figured out that it takes significantly more water than impressions. When I first filled the water inlet, it took very little water (and I thought it was very efficient) but it generated no steam. I turned it off,reset with water and tried again… no steam. The third time when I filled the water inlet, whatever was clogging the inlet finally let go. The unit then took a significant amount of water… (I thought it was taking so much water it my be leaking it out the back). After that, it steamed wonderfully! One downside is the multiple levels allow you to steam lots of food at once, but the flavor transfer from lower levels to upper levels means things have similar taste.
