It works as it is supposed to and makes cutting a straight line easy. The down sides are that it does raise the saw a little and reduce the total depth of cut you can make, but the biggest negative is that they should have moved the attachment points another 1/16 of an inch or so away from the rail slot.I have a Makita track saw and have cut the guide strips on my metal guides so I don’t want to shave any more off with this saw which would mess up the perfect alignment I currently have.I tightened the saw as tightly as I could toward the outside and even pull on it a little when cutting to avoid trimming any more material off of the guide strip. Even so, I think I took off about 1/64, but it should be tolerable when using the tracks and cutting wood with the other saw.
