The Sub-Compact 6-1/2 in. Circular Saw guide rail Adapter is an ideal accessory for precise and accurate cuts when used with Makita Sub-Compact Circular Saws and guide rails (sold separately). The Adapter allows Makita 18-Volt Sub-Compact LXT Circular Saws to be used with Makita 55 and 118 guide rails, as well as select competitor rails (all sold separately). Contractors are learning that cutting with a circular saw and compatible guide rail is a more portable option to a table saw for ripping sheet material.

Only gave it 3 stars because we did not try it out. It did not look like it would work for our Makita 7 1/4″ circular saw. because it was only designed for 6 1/2″ circular saws.So, we finally ended up buying the Makita plunge saw which works very well with the Makita tracks. Home Depot was absolutely great to work with.
