I Have not used it yet but I did put in the plunge base and it fit right. but it is recessed and even with the base not the plastic You will need to use a high lip template guide. I got a set of 6 guides and 2 low lip guides will not will work with this base and adapter but 4 will work.

I have an old Mikata router and wanted to try making some dovetail drawers, and I was surprised I could still purchase the template.The templaye did the trick but I horrible at making dovetails.

Works like a charm. Simply pull out on thetemplate guide lever ( the little blue tab at theedge of the router base) & insert the template guide adapter, then release the lever & you’re in business. Takes much longer to describe this than to do it. Also, don’t be disheartened when you get the template guide adapter, & not see the Makita model rp2301fc not listed on the packaging, it fits perfectly. Even the techs @ Makita say, it’s for the rp2301fc as well.
