Makita listened to the pro user and engineered the 15 Amp Corded 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw with user-friendly features combining power, weight and balance with jobsite durability. The saw has a powerful 15 Amp motor and a high power-to-weight ratio, with ball bearing construction and a heavy-gauge aluminum wrap-around base engineered for a longer tool life. The saw also has a large cutting capacity (2-1/2 in. at 90°, 1-3/4 in. at 45°, 1-3/8 in. at 56°) with a maximum bevel capacity of 0° to 56° and positive stops at 22.5°, 45° and 56° for quick settings.

Most carpenters know that when you buy a Makita saw one buys it for life. As long as one prevents dropping it, this saw will cut true for the life of the saw. Keep in mind the key to a good cut is a sharp blade and correct blade for the job. Very smooth and feel while cutting.

Plenty of power to cut 2x treated lumber and at a reasonable price. Watch the cord and the tightening bolt on the blade. Some how the cord got twisted up into the blade housing when I put it down and cut the cord. Luckily it was easy to replace. If the blade binds it has a tendency to loosen the bolt causing the blade to potentially detach while in use.

Great quality circular saw. Very light and has lots of power. The blade light (not laser) really helps to see the line, more than a laser which just makes it hard to see. This is one saw that I would suggest spending a bit extra on to get the higher quality. Blade quality is very good also. Will replace in kind when it gets dull.
