So far this saw works very well. I had a Skilsaw for 40 years. It is one of the 16.5 pound version, not the 12.5 they have now. I dropped it from the second story roof top. The shoe is all bended and it leaks oil but it still work. I thought I give myself a present. The Mikita saw feel smooth thru the various 2x4s.

also own a 71/2 and 61/2 worm drive Skill brand one over 40 yrs old and still works great unfortunatly the weight is getting to be too much for me . The Makita is comfortable to use light weight and well balanced . Highly recommend can not beat this style saw hypoid or worm drive . Over 45 years in Construction trade have tried them all !!

Excellent circular saw! It cuts great and has lots of power; plywood and 2x4s don’t phase it one bit and the factory blade does a very good job. I purchased a diablo blade for it at the same time but have yet to use it due to the fact that the factory blade has performed so well. The detents for the shoe position selector do not lock into position very positively which allows the selector knob to move when setting the angle of the shoe which is a little disappointing, but most of my cuts are 90 degrees so this is only a minor inconvenience for myself.

A little low on power. The light weight is nice.

Bought the saw last week. Cuts true and smoothly with the supplied blade. Great cast metal safety shroud with a good return spring. Cut three sheets of 3/4 ply using a clamp guide and almost as good as a table saw. Also cross cut some 4/4 oak for face frames. And it is square and cuts good for rough size. One downside is: it’s heavy. No exhaust port, so the sawdust goes everywhere. Looking forward to years of use in my shop.

What a powerful and light weight saw. I’m really happy with it. It’s over 3 pounds lighter than my Skillsaw.

This saw is very easy to use with a guide that can be on either side. It seems very durable although I have only had it a short while. Very happy with this purchase.

Well-balanced and light-weight saw. I haven’t been this pleased with a circular saw in many years. The rubber feet on the levers are more comfortable than imagined. Easy to adjust depth and angles. Good for the contractor, good for the weekend DIY’er.

Great saw, find it weird you cant change the oil on it, also the distance in between the end of the table and the blade is much more narrow than most saws making it hard to see your line sometimes. I don’t like the blade is pressure fitted and doesn’t use the punch out. Great quality and the hand grip doesn’t zap the heat out of your hand.

The saw won’t even be used until spring but I am confident it will preform well. I have an older version and it has served me well. I take care of my tools and when using them I don’t abuse them. I think my old saw is about14 years old. Home depot was prompt in delivery. Confident this was a good gift for my son. He is building a shop and then his home. It will be the only wormdrive he will need.

Been using wormdrive saws for over 45 years. Love this Makita. Well built. Light. Very smooth. Quieter than most. Takes a bit of getting used to to make those quick square cuts.
