Are company and gone threw several of these off brand sanders , and now finally have one that is lasting and a good value. Wish we would of chosen this one a couple of years ago , we would of saved hundreds of dollars.

Great tool for many projects.

Sanded worked directly out of the box. Was easy to handle due to light weight, good visibility of sanded area and allowed me to sand a curved box and maintain the desired shape.

Does well. Specially in tight spaces. Better than hand sanding.

Very powerful but variable speed lets you slow it down. Long nose lets you get into tight areas. I am using it for fiberglass autobody repair and it works great for chasing surface cracks for repair. Worth every penny. I am sure I will find many uses.

Excellent control and maneuverability in tight spaces. The range of variable speed is impressive. Got this for working in door jambs and around fixtures in an old renovation where layer upon layer of paint has accumulated over the years. Makes quick work of it, minimizing exposure time (I have no doubt lower layers were lead-based paints). The lower speeds allow you to work more deliberately at material removal without violently throwing dust everywhere. It has a port to hook up a vacuum hose, but I haven’t found one to fit or I would definitely be using it for this particular application. It’s a little pricey, but the build quality appears good, the motor has easily-replaceable brushes, and it’s a Makita – I have no doubt it will be working for me for years to come. It came with an assortment of belts in varying grits, and I purchased more in boxes of 40, 80, and 120 grit. Belt changes are relatively easy, and they track well without fuss. I just wish I could get in a little tighter with the nose in some spaces – the hardware for the stabilizing handle is a little bulky around the front hub, and the motor extends to the opposite side, making it a little difficult or even impossible to maneuver around some obstacles or in tight spaces up against walls. Still, it lets you get a LOT more places than traditional belt sanders. My pneumatic oscillating multi-tool sander gets in most places this one can’t, but it’s nowhere near as fast or effective as the belt sander at removing material, and it’s a lot more difficult to set up and noisier to boot. I can think of a dozen more uses in my project list where this sander will fit the bill. For small jobs, this sander is light, easy, and quick – definitely fills a unique niche in my assortment of power tools. I only wish it had come with a storage box.

I bought this to replace one that I had used for 20 yrs. of heavy use. So far it has worked flawlessly and the quality seems the same as the old model. Good job!!

The belt sander so far has exceeded my expectations for what I intended to be used for

Was refinishing my 14′ x 50′ deck, for which I always use oil-based opaque stain. Last 3+ times longer than water-based stains, but requires that sanding down to bare wood each time I refinish it in order for the new oil-based stain to be absorbed and stick. Bought this little belt sander to get into tight spots on stairs under and around railings, which I couldn’t reach with my Makita multi-tool/detail sander. The sander worked very well and the belt tracked perfectly even when moving side to side. I removed the front handle in my application, so cannot say how that works, but it is very sturdy. I was able to sand flush up to the edge on the right side, but due to the motor housing and a flange for the front handle attachment that sticks out about a 1/2″, I had to get creative when I needed to use the left side. Sander if very light and easy to control without the front handle, so slipping and gouging wood wasn’t an issue. Although I’m sure the front handle might come in handy for places where precision is needed, I’m not convinced it’s worth giving up flush sanding on the left side of sander.I sanded for about 2 hours straight first time out with it. I can’t speak for longevity beyond this use. I was a little concerned when I first turned it on. The motor didn’t sound very robust, but proved to be stout enough for my application. Took off decades worth of stain without any problem.I managed to use only 1 of the 60 grit belts to do what I needed (had to sand about 3″ at one end of each of the 15 steps). I was expecting to need to replace the belt at least once or twice during that work. Although the grit was worn out by the time I finished, the belt fabric itself was still very stout, so the supplied belts seem to be of good quality. Given it comes with 8 belts of different grits and I only used 1 belt, I can’t say how easy or difficult it is to find replacement belts of the same quality. Loudness is about the same as my multi-tool/sander…can get away without hearing protection, but I used it anyway since I was sanding for long periods at a stretch.I don’t really have any complaints. Only suggestions for improvement would be to remove flange for handle on left side so I could sand flush on that side, and maybe provide a case for it.

This sander is excellent at getting into the hard to reach places and providing finesse while still being able to take away material quickly. While its certainly not meant to be your primary sander, it sure can save a lot of time in specific situations.

package arrived without any damage, opened package and found everything nicely and neatly packaged. Belt was already on so plugged in read directions, (very simple directions) and pulled switch. No problems encountered so I adjusted speed control on handle. I found it to have a great range.
