Excellent build quality, long heavy duty cord. Well balanced tool and smooth operation. Button was a bit tricky to get to lock on at first because there is a push in and at the same time push forward motion. Came with a really nice grinding wheel. I’ve always been happy with Makita corded powertools

The new one replaced my last Makita 4″ angle grinder that finally gave up after 25 years, yes 25. The only item I would like to see changed is the on off lock switch. With heavy welding gloves it’s a bit cumbersome to turn on and off because of the way the lock works on the slide switch. With thinner gloves works great but have to fumble around a bit when locking it while welding and grinding. Other than this, I would highly recommend it. I would recommend the additional wrench which used to come with the older ones be supplied in the box, should the lock button fail used for holding the shaft it would be nice to have handy for changing wheels.Shipping and delivery was great from Home Depot and actually showed up a day earlier than expected, price was good and quality seems excellent.

The on off switch is horrible

Plenty of power to abrasive cut 12 gage carbon steel plate. Easy disc change. Switch takes a little getting used to. Also have a Makita right angle variable speed drill still running strong after 30+ years.
Karlie Christiansen (verified owner) –
Worked like a charm. I cut through steel like butter.

Grinder did what I needed it to. Never used a tool like this before. From what I’ve read, there are different types of on/off switches. Mine has a side switch. I think I would have liked the grip pressure switch better, but to each his own, and I have this one now. I ‘ll adapt!

Its lightweight, powerful and easy to use. Makita makes durable tools and it should last a long time. The on off switch could be a little easier to
