The Makita 4-1/2 in. Angle Grinder has a 7.5 Amp, 11,000 RPM motor that is powerful enough for heavy, professional-grinding applications. With the AC/DC switch, you can use alternative power sources, as well as lock the tool on and off via the switch for continuous, comfortable operation during extended periods of time.

I’ve been a makita fan my entire life and to this day have never had a quality issue with one. I rated 3 stars because this is the first makita ive been disappointed with. Not because of the quality but because of the trigger design on this model. Since the trigger button is almost the entire length of the tool, theres nowhere to firmly grip without engaging the trigger, and this can be a real problem in tight spaces (by that i mean terrifying), which i do have an occasional need for. It is a powerful tool and with the size of the trigger it can unexpectedly take off when you bump into something. Then two seconds later when you need to apply power the safety will fight you. In open workspaces, which is probably how most people use it, it works completely fine, in fact easier than other grinders. I bought this to replace my cheap harbor freight grinder, but ive had to hang onto it for situations that need a more trustable trigger. I wish they made this tool with a simple trigger like the 7” models.

I wasn’t sure if I would like the paddle switch but it’s not that bad. I do not care for the way the lock on switch is though. It’s difficult to lock and once it is locked a little bump of the paddle and it unlocks. Wish it came with a case but otherwise powerful enough for what I do and is comfortable to hold.
