Makita Impact GOLD is new innovation in fastening with a full line of insert bits, bit holders, nut setters, socket adapters, and more. Impact GOLD is designed exclusively for use with high-torque impact drivers, and is engineered with high-strength steel for longer life. The Impact GOLD Ultra-Magnetic Insert Bit Holder (B-35097) features Xtreme Torsion Technology, which allows the torsion section of the bit holder to flex under load and take pressure off of the bit tip for increased durability in high torque applications. The two-piece design is engineered to allow the torsion technology to fully activate. The rare earth Neodymium magnet is two-times stronger than magnets in standard insert bit holders, so users get the added convenience of one-handed fastening. The Makita Impact GOLD Ultra-Magnetic Insert Bit Holder is ideal for use with Impact GOLD Insert Bits (sold separately), and is engineered for driving screws in a wide variety of demanding applications including deck building, framing, installing plywood subfloor, and more.

This tools is great, but with the uses got stuck from the bottom .

The holder failed to release the bit from day one. The strong neomydium magnet was a great idea and it’s strength alone made me jack around with this tool more than I should have. Not one go read directions I went back and verified. A basic bit holder with a decent magnet would be worth twice the money.

Great magnet work as expected

First the good – This product works really well! I’ve historically used the type of bit holder that has a sleeve that slides down over the screw on the bit and then collapses as the screw is driven in. The problem with those is when the head of the screw will not fit inside the sleeve. This tool solved that. It has a very strong magnet around the bit that snaps the screw to attention on the end of the bit and pretty much locks it there. No longer does the screw fold over (for the most part anyway) right as it makes contact with the base material. Now the bad – the Makita green plastic part can be a tiny bit bulky at times when putting fasteners in tight spaces. It will pop off if you need additional room but then the advantage of that magnetic base around the bit is lost and it’s just another bit holder.

This bit holder relies on a strong magnet to hold the screw in place so it has no tube that slides down over the screw to keep it from slipping off. You have to have your drill motor aligned perfectly over the screw to prevent it from slipping off.

The bit holder performed beautifully. It held the screw in place so no dropped screws. I will recommend it highly to all my friends. Way to go makita for such a nice design.

If there is a bit holder in the world with a stronger grip, I’d like to see it. I always used to drop screws off of my old “magnetic” bit holders when using them on ladders and lifts. The grip of this is amazing!I saw an in-store demo where they spun a screw in this holder at full-speed in an impact driver, and it didn’t break loose–with a 3″ drywall screw.Sure, the holder itself is a little bulky, but when you don’t need the magnet, the sleeve is removable. Talk about the best of both worlds! It also prevents over-tightening the screw, by pushing the screw off of the holder once it’s set into the wood. No un-removable, buried screws with this thing.I originally git this as part of the 21-piece set, and we now buy them to replace old worthless magnetic holders that can barely hold 1-2″ screws with the steadiest of hands. This is amazing, and worth the extra couple of bucks.

you will have 3 hands instead of 2, very helpful.

The holding strength is excellent on this thing. Put your screw on the bit, slide the magnet forward until it clicks, and your all set. I get questions all the time from other trades wanting to know what it is. Their mind is blown when I put a 3 inch drywall screw on it and shake the drill as hard as I can and the screw doesn’t budge. The only drawback is the girth of this thing. I do low voltage work, so a lot of work on devices and in tight spots. For a quickie, just pull the magnet off and use it as a regular bit holder. The drawback there is that it is not magnetic with the green “super magnet” as I call it removed. If I’m going to be devicing or working in tight spaces all day, I go back to my regular bit holder, but for anything with clearance for it…usually anything using wood or drywall screws, this thing can’t be beat.

Work great with my new impact driver.

A great accessory, screws stay on bits. I use it 5 days a week and ordered 5 more. Head of magnet helps prevent over driving of fasteners.

The strength of the magnet is the greatest of all of the similar products I tried. I bough a DeWalt product and returned it. The Makita bit holder can allow one handed operation but two are still more efficient.

I love these Makita insert holders…they are not as bulky as the others and the magnetic sleeve slips off for easier bit swaps and also to get in tighter places. The other company one, the sleeve doesn’t come off. Somewhere in my house i have 3 extra slip-offs as i keep losing them and have to buy more.

Drill bit is excellent for my needs such as installing decking material…the magnetic deck screw holder is strong and holds the screws securely…love it!!!
