Impact GOLD is designed exclusively for use with high-torque impact drivers, with high-strength steel for longer life, and a precision-fit tip engineered to prevent cam-out and stripping. The Impact GOLD Ultra-Magnetic Insert Bit Holder and bits feature Xtreme Torsion Technology, which allows the torsion section of the bit and bit holder to flex under load and take pressure off of the bit tip for increased durability in high torque applications. The 2-piece design is engineered to allow the torsion technology to fully activate. The rare earth Neodymium magnet is 2-times stronger than magnets in standard insert bit holders, so users get the added convenience of 1-handed fastening. The Makita Impact GOLD Ultra-Magnetic Insert Bit Holder is ideal for driving screws in a wide variety of demanding applications including deck building, framing, installing plywood subfloor, and more.

The bit set works well. I use mostly the Phillips and Torx bits. The bit holder works really well. I don’t mind that the bit is hard to extract. I’d rather have the bit held securely and deal with using pliers to change the bit. It is not a big deal to me to use pliers.Thank you Home Depot.

After being very dissatisfied with a Dewalt set that offered more bits for less money I returned it and bought this Makita set. There are several bits that I will probably never use and it doesn’t have a couple bits that I could use, flathead screwdriver, but the quality is excellent, much better than Dewalt’s. I also bought an extra Makita magnetic bit holder so I can swap them out when using different bits on the same job. I do like Makita’s quality!
