The Impact GOLD 14-Piece. Titanium Drill Bit Set (B-65399) offers an assortment of hex shank bits for drilling clean and accurate holes in metal, wood and plastic. With the Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating, these bits are engineered to last 2.5X longer than non-coated bits. The 135° split-point geometry is built for fast starts and reduced walking. The bits are impact-rated and for use in hex impact drivers (sold separately). They are ideal for drilling holes in ferrous metal, wood, plastic, non-ferrous metal, cast iron and stainless steel.

I was out on an emergency job, didn’t think I would need drill bits but as usual there wasn’t set in my kit i brought with me I had to go to Home Depot for stock so I figured I would get a couple bits. Actually saw this with a yellow clearance price for 10 bucks it rang in at $7 and change! SCORE! Cheaper than buying two bits I needed. The set is great quality stayed sharp when drilling thru 1/4″ stainless steel. I do not know what the retail price of this set was but IMO it is worth twice the price i paid. Wouldn’t mind coming across a few more of these sets for the price I paid i would get a few more and stash them in my car truck and at home.

First, let’s establish this: ALL other reviews that are 1 star are from people who don’t know how to properly use a drill bit. That is guaranteed. Bits are fine. Yes the case and the plastic holders are cheap, but that is of no importance to me. I usually take them out of those sleeves anyway. I like Makita. They focus on what matters, not a showy display case. For the rest of you, learn how to use a drill in 1st gear and don’t put these bits in an impact driver and expect the same results.

Bought these as an upgrade to the normally cheaper bits I use. These are a night and day difference to me. Drilling through 1″ thick particle board was very fast w/ the 1/2″ bit. Used the others and was able to drill holes quickly. Can’t say about longevity for now, but these are good bits for home DIYer.They’re a bit hard to get out of the case. I thought I was going to cut my fingers a few times.
