While I am very satisfied with this blower, it took a while to buy as the idiot in the Newnan Georgia store told me I could not order and pay with a Home Depot gift card. This leaf blower is very easy to start and it’s nice not to have to use a premix of gas and oil. It’s roughly the same weight as my old blower. The velocity of air seems to be about the same as the previous blower however, I’ll know more this fall. My only complaint is the oil dip stick is somewhat difficult to read. Bottom line for me is, I would buy it again.

Overall it is a very nice blower, especially after having noisy 2 strokes and electric blowers. I’ve run it for maybe 8 hours but have changed the oil 3 times. The oil appears black and dirty after an hour of run time. Seems it could use a larger reservoir than 2.7 oz.

In all fairness, this is the first leaf blower I have ever purchased or used in my 50+ years of life. I never liked the noise they emit and could never understand why I heard them being used on windy days. But a few areas around my house were always a challenge to remove leaves every fall. This leaf blower is exactly what I was hoping it would be for the following reasons. 1.) A four stroke emits a very low noise compared to a 2 stroke engine. 2.) You don’t have to worry about mixing Oil and Gas. 3.) At 9 pounds it is not overly heavy and with the Gas tank grip design can be held with 2 hands if it is going to be used for a length of time. 4.) Out of the box and adding fluids this started with an easy pull the first time and has started on the first pull every other time I have used it. I have never owned a Makita product with an engine, just a few power tools that have stood up to the test of time and I hope this will prove to be as well made as those power tools are. So far I am very pleased with this product.

I have a model from early 2016 and it is still going strong. Sees about 5 hours of use a week and gets an oil change every month. I run Honda small motor oil and ethanol free gas through mine and it has started on the first or second pull every time, keep up the good work Makita!
