It’s quieter than other sanders that I have had. Being a 1/3 sheet sander gives you more coverage to sand the surfaces, compared to 1/4 sheet sander. I love the handles and the type of switch that is on the unit. The base is made of metal and sandpaper is easy to install.

I wanted a 1/3 sheet sander for doing the front of my house and looked at what Home Depot had to offer on line. I chose the Makita and it was delivered the next day to my house. I put it together and started using it the next day with 80 grit paper I already had. The hole punch provided fits perfectly and made excellent holes for the suction bag to collect. It is light weight and well balanced and takes off material effortlessly. The sand paper is lasting a long time as well. I’m extremely pleased with it and am looking forward to many projects to come, Thanks.

Replacing worn out Craftsman 1/3 sheet orbital sander. Size and feel are similar but Makita has variable speed with speed lock and can clamp the sandpaper at the ends or use velcro attachment. Less vibration to your hard, more noticeable with longer use. Had it about a month and overall a nice step up.

I needed to sand the finish off a 500 square foot deck. My thirty year old Sears sander bit the dust. I ordered this one based on a review from someone using it for the same job I was. Actually the same deck finish. It is a well made, easy to use ergonomically and worth the $55 bucks
