1/3 sheet sanders are becoming very rare so this was a crapshoot. The overall feel and balance is excellent, the sander is ver quiet.

This replaced a Makita I’d purchased nearly 30 years ago. Just as solid, with a better paper retention system and the dust bag is a nice feature. There are 2 features that would make this an ideal tool: A vacuum adapter fitting to standard 1-1/4″ tube size and a linear/orbital sanding action switch. That last was on my old unit and worked very well on wood surfaces.

The sander it self is great, the dust collection bag had a hole worn in it with in the first 2 days of use.Easy to change the paper, and the “on” switch is very helpful

As with the reviewer’s review that convinced me to buy this sander, it is to replace a 45 year old Black and Decker zero option sander that has been a workhorse for me, to sand a softwood (redwood) deck with 2 x 6 boards for re-staining. The last time I rented one of the big, square, walk-behind sanders, but it was too hard to control the amount of wood removed, so I decided to do it “by hand”. I wanted at least the same quality for longevity, and I think this will deliver. Very smooth operation compared to the old B&D; sandpaper replacement and hole punching is easy; sandpaper lasts much longer with the vent holes. I didn’t really understand the dust vent system before I bought, but it works very well to catch much of the sawdust and prevent paper clogging to make the sandpaper last much longer, even though I am sanding old stain that tends to clog the old style sander. Project is going very well.

There weren’t many options available for a 1/3 sheet, so I picked this more out of availability than because it was a better sander. However, this sander is fantastic! I’ve only used it a few times, but it’s ergonomic, quiet and has low vibration. Changing paper is very easy. Highly recommended.

Does the job and sucks up most of the sawdust as well.

It is a nice finish sander.

I should have bought this sander sooner to do my new hardwood floor. It is light weight and quiet when compared to the cheaper brand at HD, The best feature is the reduced vibration transferred to your hand. The sheet clamping system is well built and easy to use. If you need this size sander, buy it.

Has a nice vibration suppression feature on its handle. Much easier handling because of this feature. I would highly recommend this product.

I like everything about this tool. It’s not too big or bulky. The trigger handle has a good feel that allows for easy maneuverability. The sheets of sandpaper are easy to change out. It’s not very noisy. Great tool to add to the collection.

Very quite and easy to use. The dust bag could use an internal spring for support

Pretty darn good sander. Practically no vibration transmitted to your hand, and that’s a GOOD thing. Very effective orbital motion and you cannot see any swirl marks from the movement. About the best paper holder that I’ve experienced – haven’t had a sheet let go. Noise is not an issue – but I’m getting older and no telling if my hearing is any good anyway. The hardest thing to do is cut the sandpaper into one-third sheets! I didn’t use the dust bag so I can’t comment on that but I wish I did. Had to do a serious dust cleanup after. I was sanding a good sized porch ceiling so I bought this specifically for that job. Was working with the sander over my head the whole time and it was not too heavy to do that. Sure, it was tiring doing that but the shape made it easier to do it two handed. A belt sander would have been impossible. Like any sander of this nature, you could damage the rubber pad by burning through the paper and eroding the rubber pad. That’s just the way these are so pay attention during the sanding process. For the money, you can’t beat this sander unless you specifically need in-line sanding. Then get out your wallet and forget working above your head..
