This is a powerful little sander. I was going to buy the half-sheet sander, but it seemed too expensive. And I was reluctant to buy this smaller sander because I had some heavy-duty sanding to do, better suited to a belt sander. However, I read a review where the guy claimed to use this little sander on his deck planks! So I figured what the heck, it should work on a couple hardwood counters and a table.Well, it did a great job. With quality sandpaper, it will cut right through the work very quickly. Of note is the super quiet motor, low vibration, and excellent dust pick up. Changing sandpaper sheets is a snap, unlike my Makita quarter-sheet sander, which actually takes something slightly larger than a quarter sheet, thus creating a huge waste of sandpaper.
