it does the job and is a very good piece of equipment…HOWEVER, the dust bag is barely filled after 30 minutes of use..!THAT FACT makes absolutely sure that i have to spend the rest of my day dusting down the ceiling, walls and vaccuming EVERYWHERE, as a result…!my old ryobi (bought in 1998) does a better job at dust collection.

does what it is supposed to. easy change out of new pad if/when needed. we use these deburring metal sheets. they hold up well in industrial environment.

Small, light, and powerful. Over the last couple of decades, I’ve slowly been moving through the power tool brands and I’ve gotten to the point where most of my tools are Makita. This is no exception. Solid, well designed, and highly reliable. This an an awesome small quarter sheet sander.

I bought one of these in 1981. Ive been using it regularly ever since. The bearing has started to fail, so i thought i would get a new one to replace it when i finally lay it to rest. I am brand loyal as much as i can be and i’ve no complaint about any of my many makita tools

Very useful to have the bag attachment, it saves a lot of mess. Pretty easy to use hand held sander, but was glad to have gotten a plank of wood to practice on before tackling the real project as i’m not used to sanding or this machine in particular. Doesn’t jump around on you easily and it moves smoothly, good for smaller projects. If used for an extended period I recommend thicker gloves while you’re using it – I used this sander for several hours a day over several days, and experienced discomfort in my hand and arm from the vibrations, but that’s pretty normal without something to absorb some of the shock. Overall very handy, and you just need to buy a quarter sheet of the sandpaper grit you need (from any brand, it genuinely doesn’t have to be Makita paper), or buy a full sheet and cut down to size. If you buy this in-store, they should have perfectly sized sandpaper in the immediate area where this machine is.

Suprisingly quiet for a sander. Only had it a couple weeks but have used it on a couple projects. Works great for finish sanding to glass like finish

I love my Makita sander! It’s easy to handle and the bag that collects the wood dust works great!

I used it to fix some sticking wooden doors.

I had another Mikita so I thought this would be a good buy. The sander itself is good but installing the sandpaper is a pain. Definitely not the best feature. Design flaw for sure…

This is a relatively low cost finishing sander but works great for occasional use in a home workshop. This is the second I have purchased. The first which I have used for, approximately, 5 years eventually broke – the plastic retaining the sanding pad base to the motor wore out and fell off. The vibrating of the sander will eventually do that. I have a replacement coming and will repair the old one for, I hope, an additional few years of service. It looks like an easy fix and the needed part was readily available. Then I will have two and can keep each loaded with a different grit so I won’t have to change sanding paper as often.
