This charger will work just great if you happen to have a BL3626 battery. However, if you have a BL3622A battery, it will simply tell you that your battery is defective (even though it is not). Since most 36 volt Makita devices are shipped with the BL3622 at the time of this writing, that’s the battery you likely already have. The problem is being made worse by Home Depot failing to specify the supported battery in write-up. The shipped product states the battery supported right above the model number you can see in the product shot. That information, however, is missing from the Home Depot photo.I chose to give it three stars because, should you happen to have the supported battery, it should be a real winner of a product while, conversely, if you don’t have that battery, the device is useless.
