The Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Xenon Flashlight (tool only) provides high illumination without the cord. It features a compact and ergonomic design for ease of use and a head which can be set in 4 positions for versatile use. This flashlight has a high illumination Xenon bulb that emits 4,500 Lux, with up to 4 hours of illumination on a single charge of 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion 3.0Ah battery (battery and charger sold separately). It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18-Volt Lithium-Ion series, the world’s largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18-Volt Lithium-Ion slide-style battery. Makita 18-Volt Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.

It’s very easy to use and balances well with battery in place. Light is bright and lasts a long time. The Makita system is the best because the tools all fit the hand the best. Nice bright light. Compact design makes it easy to use, especially in attics. The major downside to this light is the hanging hook. For one the cord can get tangled. Two, the hook is painted metal which will scar any surface that can be scratched. So you need to be careful if you are working near exposed surfaces. If a rubber coating was applied to the hook, this light would definitely receive a 5 star rating.

The first Flash Light I received stopped working and must have been a fluke as all the Makita products have always been excellent.This second one is fine no problems. This is a great work light because it will stand alone and has many different positions of the Head that swivels. It has a center beam that shows distance and at the same time a wide angle beam to really show the work area. I would have given it 5 stars if the first didn’t fail right away.

I like the versatility of the movable lamp head, also the life of the battery seems to be about 2 hrs constant but the other good thing about this flash light is that the power shuts off when the batery does get low and allows you to use the last bit of light until batery finally dies. I would recommend this flashlight to all contractors.
