Makita ImpactXPS is new innovation in fastening with insert bits and fastening accessories built for the demands of the professional contractor. The ImpactXPS #2 Phillips 1 in. Insert Bits are designed exclusively for use with high-torque impact drivers and are engineered to last up to 90-times longer than standard insert bits. High-strength steel delivers longer bit life and the precision-fit tip is engineered to prevent cam-out and stripping. The torsion section of the bit flexes under load to take pressure off of the bit tip for increased durability. The high quality steel construction is engineered for increased durability and features a matte nickel surface for best in class corrosion resistance. ImpactXPS #2 Phillips 1 in. Insert Bits are ideal for the most demanding jobs including deck building, framing, installing plywood subfloor and more.

So far I’ve used only 1 of these bits to remove 50+ rusting 2.5″ screws from aging deck boards. No wear. They haven’t stripped, although a number of the screws have. I’d be on a 3rd or 4th bit by now with past brands I’ve used. I did the math on the 15 pack vs. 5 pack & it was the better deal by far — although it will probably be a long time till I use them up if my experience so far is an indication.

The fit of these bit tips is wildly amazing! You can literally feel the bits “snap” into place when seated properly in a screw. If I had to guess any stripping or cam out issues others are seeing is either due to a poorly made screw or they are not seating the bit tips properly to make full contact with the screw. I’d recommend these bits all day long!! Way to go Makita!
