I have both sets, metric and SAE…. Both are well made and fit well in the rubber holder.

These sockets are well made. The included 1/4” to 3/8” adapter is one of the new XPS bits. Everything is kept on a flexible storage boot. The adapter and sockets are supposed to be resistant to breakage during impact. They are engraved with the sizes, which are readable but you have to look at it in the right light.I tried one of them on my Workbench nuts. Seem to work well and fit nicely.

Used this to install stainless steel bolts to an eight foot gate I was building. It worked great and exceeded my expectations.

Clearly Makita wants to sell us high quality accessories for our impact drivers. These sockets run from 8mm to 21mm . But no 19mm and 20mm. The red little boot hugs the 10 sockets and still has room for the 1/4 to 3/8 adapter. The 6 point sockets are solid and marked on the sides there size. But you’ll need good light to read them. Very good starter set. Makita also sells other sized socket sets. Overall this set of sockets will make your toolbox ready for any repair that comes your way.

This is more of a first impression rather than a review. First this is not a 10 piece socket set it is a 9 piece socket set with a 1/4″ hex to 3/8″ drive adapter. This is kind of a pet peeve of mine, there is 9 sockets in this set. This is not a pro quality tool nor is it intended to be. It is an ok DIYer’s set. The set is not complete. it skips the 9, 11, 16, 19 & 20 mm sockets. The holder does a good job keeping the sockets organized but it covers up the sizes, you have to remove a socket to see it’s size stamp. A stamp on the holder would add some value to the user.I used the 14mm socket to remove my lawnmower blades today and it worked. I would prefer a more complete set but if this set has the size you need now than it is a better value than buying an individual socket.

That stupid bolt didn’t know what hit it.

These metric impact sockets are sturdy and well made! I tried them out when I built a tailgate for my utility trailer. Sizing seems true and the six-point sockets will fit some SAE sizes. They are cleanly machined with no burrs on them. The included 3/8″ driver adapter fit my impact driver well, and also is cleanly made. Overall I’m impressed with these sockets.

What can I say? This is a really nice set. The sockets seemed to be made well and it is really nice that Makita includes the adapter piece that fits into a drill or impact driver. I also like the sleeves that the sockets fit into. It really beats having them roll around my workbench. Obviously any socket has to be used for time to test durability, but so far I am very happy.

Nice heavy duty sockets and they arrived just in time. I have a 2001 Pontiac Gran Prix GTX and the power steering pump needs to be replace. To get to it you have to disassemble half the engine and extra sockets and some in the size I was missing is great. Soon as I finish this project my grandmother’s F-150 needs a lower right front control arm replaced so they are going to get a lot of use in the next couple of weeks.

What I like most about this set is it’s practical rubber sleeve, which actually holds the sockets well and the included adapter for standard impact drivers! All holds well together in a tool box and searching is over – it is more practical (faster, easier) to store the sockets in this rubber boot than the metal socket holders and a lot more durable than other plastic socket holders. The sockets are of good quality. We used them for a small deck project in the past 2 weeks.

These sockets are exactly what I was looking for in a metric set. I used them today on my truck and they worked great. The socket adapter fit nice and snug in my quick connect drill and if you line the ball up with the hole in the socket it will not fall off. It felt very secure around the bolt and I felt like there was very little give around any connection. They are nice and heavy so I can tell they will handle some intense torque. I was also very impressed with the storage boot, it is simple but is made of a thick durable material that will hold up and the sockets fit very securely in it.

First off I use my impact a lot so these were a must to have. I like the black finish as it does not show the dirt as much. They hold up great to the torque of my impact nicely with no wear issues that I have experienced with other like tools. They have held up to some of my seriously over tightening of bolts where the bolt broke but the socket was untouched. The only only reason I didn’t give them a 5 was due to the fact that it’s hard to see the size of the socket. So if the markings were easier to see it would be a 5 all day .

Really well made for the price and they seem to be heat treated? If it is then they’re solid and are going to last for a good while. Happy with them

Nice & compact kit, with adapter. Easy to store & keep together, whether you trow it in your tool bag or store away in your storage drawer.

These Sockets are very strong solidly build thick walled. I used them building my Patio cover with a Kobalt 24V impact driver. You don’t have to worry about these cracking on you. I used the large 21mm to drive in the 1/4″ hooks into the framing to install my tarp. I also used the 15 & 17 mm to tighten nuts and bolts. They really made the job easy. They are so well made I would use them instead of my regulator sockets when I have to work on the car. They are Six point so that makes them stronger and not so easy to strip them out or round off the heads of your bolts. For sure I will be picking up a set of standard to go along with this set. The drive that came with the set also seems very strong & has the locking bearing to keep you socket in place. It also was made right it held the socket but not so tight you had to pry it off. I was able to pull the socket free easy and yet it still held it in place. I have snapped others doing what I did with this set. IT pass the test of Excellent Quality. I did like the rubber holding case they came in also.
