The ImpactXPS 8-Piece 1/4 in. Drive 6-Point Metric Impact Socket Set features high-strength 6-point sockets designed to be used with impact drivers, impact wrenches and ratchets. Sockets are made from heat-treated alloy steel with a black oxide coating to resist corrosion for longer life. ImpactXPS 6-point drive sockets are engineered for extreme torque applications. I tend to use my impact driver a lot. I find myself using it to drive in lag screws. While I have some impact rated nut drivers, I often find I don’t have the size I need. In the past I have used an impact rated driver and the socket set from my impact wrench. This set is much more convenient to use. It has the sizes I need in a compact form factor. It fits in the bag with the impact driver and other bits.I already have a similar set for my drill/driver. But you don’t want to use non-impact rated bits in an impact driver. It is like using non-impacted sockets with an impact wrench. But it may also fail and cause problems. I have had non-impact bits turn in the chuck. They are a pain to get out. After fighting with it a time or two, I spent the money for impact rated bits. It is worth it.

I super-glued some neodymium magnets underneath the spot on my cart where I put these. it was really nice cuz I could grab the whole set and put it back easily. The blue plastic/rubber socket holder is actually really nice. 10/10 Makita for the win!
