The 14 in. Power Cutter, model EK6101, is engineered for industrial performance but with less weight at only 19.6 lbs. The compact and efficient EK6101 is powered by a 61cc engine with a full 4.4 HP for the most demanding concrete cutting applications. Its engineered to start easier and vibrate less. It also has innovative features like Stratified Air Scavenging (SAS) that recovers up to 75% of unburned fuel to reduce fuel consumption, and a cyclonic air intake that discards larger debris for increased air filter life and less maintenance. The compact and efficient EK6101 is an ideal cutting solution for metal decking, angle iron, I-beams, cast iron pipe, brick/masonry, stone/concrete blocks, railroad rails, road curbs, and asphalt. Blade sold separately. This Promotion also comes with a bonus Makita T-01270 14 in. Diamond Blade, Segmented, Dual Purpose.
- EK6101 – cyclonic air intake delivers more air, more efficiently and increases air filter life by discarding 90% of larger debris
- EK6101 – start capacitor with start support function resulting in significantly less pull start force
- EK6101 – smaller hub and drive wheel assembly increases maximum cutting depth to 5-1/8 in.
- EK6101 – Stratified Air Scavenging (SAS) sends air flow through the transfer port to push the burned gases through the exhaust outlet recovering 75% of unburned fuel and reducing fuel consumption by 20%
- EK6101 – larger surface inverted intake and filter system extends filter life and service intervals
- EK6101 – sliding front engine mounts help absorb vibration by detaching when cutting pressure is applied
- EK6101 – multi-ribbed, self tensioning belt is engineered to provide a more consistent transfer of power
- EK6101 – lower noise at 97 dB(A) and smoother idle for continuous operation
- EK6101 – clear primer bulb facilitates fuel delivery to the carburetor for easier cold starts
- EK6101 – on-off choke operation switch on a single lever with touch-stop function for operator convenience
- EK6101 – aluminum guard and wheel pressure plates to reduce overall weight
- EK6101 – clear fuel tank window provides a convenient fuel level indicator
- T-01270 – laser welded to ensure the strongest joint possible
- T-01270 – superior quality steel core
- T-01270 – optimum bond matrix provides a faster, longer, smoother diamond blade
- T-01270 – highest-quality diamonds
- T-01270 – expertly tensioned for true cuts

Brought-used on a walk behind concrete saw WITH WATER-cut concrete for 10 hours-still have lots of blade left to use. I would def recommend. If you are looking for a good concrete blade this one worked great for me.

It’s a great tool to have. I don’t do to much cutting of concrete but decided to buy this gas saw for a specific job of cutting out for a long line of pipe below the concrete pad. It made quick work of it. The include hose attachment was great for keeping down the dust level . Well worth the cost .

had to get use to the choke…. and it does not have a lock on speed for start… had to relearn starting protocol

This blade has lasted an unbelievable amount of cutting. No disappointment here whatsoever.

Very happy with our new Makita. It is ergonomically comfortable to handle and cuts like a dream. So far, some of us are better than others at the pull start.

I’ve only used once so far to cut up some old fence post anchors that I dug out of the ground. Cut through them like butter. The water connection that’s mounted to the saw is honestly a bit shoddy, it sprung a leak after the first use…it still was able to spray enough water on the blade though so it didn’t really affect anything, hopefully the leak does not get any worse. 4 stars, would’ve been 5 if not for the cheap water spray.

used it to cut out a bad section of concrete with rebar in it. Works best if you keep the blade and surface flooded in water.
Charley Cole (verified owner) –
Yes was easy out of the box ! Add gas and the blade !

Worked as advertised. Decided to purchase when renting a concrete saw. Rental for the blade was going to be 50 dollars and purchased for 99 dollars. Now, next time I rent a saw, I have the blade and no need to rent. Money saved in the long run. (I am a contractor and occasionally need to rent this equipment).
