We use these for commercial resurfacing.It is convinent to get new ones when they wear out.I take them to the Makita repair center that will rebuild them once with in a year for free.

All my portable power tools are Makita for good reason. Some are nearing 30 years old and still keep working. This grinder was Made in USA and will probably be the same. Word of caution, Makita carries cheaper inferior products probably made in china so be sure to check product for, made in Japan or USA.

I have had a lot of luck with Mikita power tools. I am sure this will last me a long, long time. It is quite heavy but get things done way faster the a 4.5” ever will.
