Lightweight but powerful. Easy to change disk and operate . Strips paint off wood siding easily . Put a larger 6″ sanding disk on it and you can easily feather your work.

This is a great sander for certain jobs. I am sanding old paint off of an old house. I went to a supply house and got some 7 inch grinding pads which work perfect on the sander .

Purchased this sander to remove solid stain on my deck and all frame work.. Had a disc sander that was hook and loop system. Totally unsuitable for a large job as my deck is 25 x 25 ft. All it did was eat discs. The Makita is a gem of a tool, almost operates itself, just hold and guide. This is a real sander and uses solid discs that last all day.

Great sander, beyond great. Sanding fascia boards on 2nd story when the sander got away from me ( ( so powerful ) the sander hit a cement tile on the first story broke it and continued on to the cement sidewalk below. Small nick on rubber pad was the only thing wrong. Sander is still working great. I’m not surprised it’s a MAKITA. I have several power tools from Makita and will continue to buy MORE !

This disc sander is superb and did the job we needed it for. I just wish I could get the 3M black nylon paint stripping pads for it.

I have used this sander since the 90’s. It was stolen and very hard to find to replace. With one or two upgrades this is the exact same unit it always was. I highly recommend it for it’s size and power. I use it primarily for lawn mower blades and other heavy grinding. I love the ease of changing discs. A little pricey for it’s size but worth the money it you need it. Very happy homedepot still carries it. ( although not in my local stores)

Light and effective. Discs in 5 inch size are readily available unlike my 7 inch sander.

After going over the dark stains on my deck, left from a power washer and a palm sander I bought this Makita. Shouldn’t have wasted my time with the sander. This thing is a little amazing at the current task. Taking teak down to bare wood. And yes you need the handle attached or this thing or it will fly out of control. Never seen so much saw dust generated from a sander. Finally the right tool for the job.

The best sander in it’s class. Outstanding for pealing paint removal and tapering edges. If you use a 7 inch sanding disc instead of the 5 inch you gain a bigger surface area and some flexibility while sanding. Very ergonomic and comfortable to use. I would highly recommend this sander!

By far the best sander you can buy. Sanded old stain right down to the wood. Works so well you have to be careful not to gouge the wood. Use two hands and just keep it moving. I now have two
