as advertised, we use it to grind paint off houses best with a 5″ 36 grit pad, they are made so you cannot change the brushes with out taking apart only draw back, I consider them disposable.

I can’t believe I went this long without having this tool in my shop. It chews through everything with minimal effort. It was on sale at my local Home Depot, and for the price I figured it wouldn’t hurt to have in the shop. I think the first weekend I had it I used it for a couple of hours. Getting paint off an old roof rack, smoothing edges of a picture frame I was making, sharpening an axe head, smoothing out burrs on another metal project I was working on. That was all on the same disc, too. Excellent tool.

Used for exterior paint stripping. On one the button that allows you run the sander without holding the trigger stopped working. On another the hex head screw that holds the disc jammed? This was in a one week time span.

I had an earlier version of this sander, and loved it. This one is even better. It seems to be more powerful. I recommend it highly for all kinds of wood sanding jobs around the house. Just keep in mind that it is a good idea to smooth the sanded surface with the orbital afterwords.

I am a painting contractor, I have used this sander for years on exterior fascia and rough cut exterior trim. I’ve bought one 13 yrs ago and still use it. I can buy the black plastic disk backing when they break or chip. I can also use a tap and dye to remove the Allen nut that holds the disks if it gets stripped from your workers not being careful and stripping it out. Awesome tool.
