Good for exterior sanding only, sander design like a drill give good balance in your hand and less fatigue ,weight 2.6lbs. Only one speed, sanding disc break easy, 5″ sand paper hard to find at other hardware store, online order from Home Depot takes more than two weeks.I saw lots of painter using this Makita drill sander, sanding with one hand up in the ladder, price $99 is high. Less arm fatigue is the main reason I bought it.

This Sander is a classic, there’s nothing like it: the wait, the RPM’s are perfect. They don’t last forever but you’ll forget the price you pay for by then.. Get one!

The best sander there is for getting the job done quick. Just keep it moving quickly or you will gouge the wood. I have used these sanders for years and they are the best!

problem was, Home Depot didn’t carry the sanding disks (sandpaper) for this tool. This sander takes a disk with a hole in the middle. The ones at Home Depot didn’t have the hole which meant you had to punch in a hole. Plus, the after market disks that Home Depot carries don’t last long on this sander. One Makita sanding disk did come with the sander and it was a strong, heavy paper one which lasted a great dealer longer than the after market sanding disks.

This is the updated version of the makita 5″ disk sander. I’ve used this sander for 15 years, with 6″ fiber backed disks. Works great for moderate to heavy sanding of wood, paint feathering of peeling, and even for sharpening lawnmower blades.

With its 4500 rpm, it is a workhorse. I work for a stone restoration company and I use it and abuse it every day and cant imagine my work without it.The only two negative things is that it need a Dust Shroud and it has no Variable Speed

Great sander, beyond great. Sanding fascia boards on 2nd story when the sander got away from me ( ( so powerful ) the sander hit a cement tile on the first story broke it and continued on to the cement sidewalk below. Small nick on rubber pad was the only thing wrong. Sander is still working great. I’m not surprised it’s a MAKITA. I have several power tools from Makita and will continue to buy MORE !
