Excellent tool. I was trying to mount a garden trellis on a cinder block wall. Tried other drills, even an impact drill, it did not budge. When I used this hammer drill I was able to mount the trellis in minutes. Saved me a lot of time (and money). Also, I like the removable side handle. When drilling the cinder block it gave me leverage and stability to drill the whole in concrete. Then I removed it for other applications to drill screws.

I purchased the Grandfather of this Drill ( Model # HP2010N ) in 1985…it’s a Workhorse / Mule of a drill ! The trigger switch finally broke…buying this drill for a comparable price! You will not be disappointed in it’s feel, handling, and performance! If it has a similar lifetime this drill should last until sometime either side of my 100th birthday! Thank You Makita for a well built tool !!!

Got the holes drilled in the concrete. I was trying to do it with a Ryoba but it stripped gears after four holes. This one did twelve holes in about two hours.
