Very powerful and avoids problem of loss of battery power and needing to carry a spare. Batteries are quite expensive and add a lot to cost. There is need for a lengthy cord with some work and the need for care to avoid the cord getting tangled or interfering with work. The included carrying case is a real convenience and the only drawback is that you only get two metal-cutting blades and the space in case for spare blades is too short to accommodate longer wood blades. Overall saw worked extremely well for me over two weeks of outdoor heavy root cutting.

I’ve only used the Makita 11 Amp Corded Variable Speed Reciprocating Saw over 1 three hour period to cut up a downed tree branch but it worked great. I’d never owned a Sawzall before so I’m no expert but I liked it and I especially liked that it comes with a case to store it.
