My first experience with this type of saw. Excellent. It made startlingly short work of a rusty cantilever umbrella stand with the included metal blade so the pieces could be bundled up.

It works for what I needed that day. I really wanted a DeWalt, but there were none in stock !

This Makita 12 amp reciprocal saw is built super tough! The weight and feel of the saw seems as if it would last a life time. The rubber exterior skin provides lots of grip and is thick so no need to worry about treating this tool gentle. I used this recently to cut into a wall and open it up, and it handled everything with ease. It does come with a nice instruction manual that easily shows how to use and maintain the tool. This tool more than meets my expectations as I’ve used some other reciprocal saws from other brands that were lower tier and you def get what you pay for. It also has a collapsible hook that allows you to hang the tool up while not in use, which is nice. While I do prefer to have cordless tools on most of the usually suspects, reciprocal saws can go either way for me and in this option i do prefer the corded as it provides great power with no lag at all. I do with it came with a small bag, but I’m sure other models have that option, I just like having everything in it’s own case.

Never disappointed in Makita. I was replacing an old Milwaukee saw and Home Depot was out of stock and l purchased the Makita. Couldn’t be happier. And it was cheaper then the Milwaukee.

Bought this saw to replace my old Bosch sawzall which was on it’s last legs. It’s first job was cutting up some branches that fell out of my birch tree.Good:1) The vibration is much less than on the Bosch. 2) The body is not too bulky, so I feel like I can keep a good grip on with even though I have small hands. It’s very comfortable to use.3) I find the rafter hook to be useful, even outside of a construction environment.4) No extra bells and whistles to break. Just a motor and a trigger to make it go.Neutral: 1) The cut is a little slower, without orbital action on the blade. A few extra seconds per cut doesn’t bother me, but it could be critical for some people.Bad:1) It’s not really any fault of the saw itself, but I would greatly have preferred a hard case to come with it. I understand that would increase the cost some, but this is a large tool that I imagine most people probably won’t store in a tool chest. I managed to get mine to fit in the case for my old Bosch by taking out a few pieces of plastic, so no big deal.Overall, I like this saw, and would recommend it as a great addition to a DIY tool collection.

Adequate powerful and ergonomic tool. Not sure about the metal but wood and drywall are processed quickly and conveniently. Bought 12″ saws for the wood – very efficient for the garden (backyard) tasks while definitely needs more hand power to hold the saw compared to the chain saw. But the load on your hands depends on how hard you push the saw against the material to be cut. I.e., less load means just the longer cutting time. Advantage to the chain saw – there is no clogging by the soft wood flakes.

Great value for what you get and it works great. I didn’t want to spend a pile of money on something I would barely use and the Makita on sale fit the bill.

A powerful efficient saw designed for extended operation. Model JR3051T has a long 1-3/16 in. stroke for faster cutting, a performance advantage. The 12 amp motor maintains power under load. Good ergonomic design. The manageable 7.3 lb weight and 18 inch length make this saw less tiring to use during extended operation. Built-in clamp enables tool-free blade swapping. The wide trigger is easily controlled while wearing work gloves. Pivoting hook for quick hanging storage. Includes 6” wood and metal cutting blades. Use cutting oil when sawing metal to protect blade. Case not included. Motor brushes require periodic inspection for wear and occasional replacement. Double insulated with 2-prong polarized plug. One year limited warranty. Blades made in Switzerland.
