The saw operation is of a good quality for a tool in this price range. Changing the mitre angle is simple. Pre-set stops at 22.5 and 45 are very accurate. One drawback is position of “release” button, which must be pressed along with trigger. At some angles it’s awkward getting your wrist in position to do so.

It’s very very good

Good things are light quite accurate and runs on less amps so voltage drop isn’t a problemor if you want to run a vacuum simultaneously. Bad points the blade guard is noisy and the linear bearings are poor quality.

It’s good!!! All but the numbers on the table of it when sliding sideways, for both 45 degrees lock in but the tape reader is off on both sides by almost a full degree, so it make it incorrect to use it… that’s the only problem I see it has…

Saw works awesome! Great saw with a great brand name backing it up. Have an old Makita 10inch chop saw in the family for 30 years, going strong still. Have the same high expectations for the new addition.

Bought this blade to replace my Makita A-93550 70 Tooth Quiet Crosscutter for my mitre saw. I’ve been very happy with it and it’s performed quite well for me, but didn’t see it available on Home Depot. Instead I ordered the 80 Teeth Micro Polished blade which was delivered to my doorstep in a plastic bag with no padding, bubble wrap etc. Who knows what happened between the warehouse and my doorstep but the blade was slightly bent. I made a test cut and found it cut no better than my 70 tooth blade, plus the 80 tooth blade SCREAMS as it cuts, and continues to ring like a church bell long after the blade has stopped moving. If noise doesn’t bother you, the 80 tooth is a decent blade at a good price, but I would have it delivered to the store instead and hold onto your receipt until you’ve inspected it. I opted for having my 70 tooth re-sharpened at Forrest saw blades, which is local to me. Good luck!

I really like all my previous Makita products, which is why I decided to buy this Makita Mitre saw. It starts out real nice and smooth, unlike the jarring crank up to high speed in the old saws. However, after 2 weeks, it seem to develop a wobble and got worse with use. We regularly have to tighten the bolt holding the blade in. Not sure if replacing the blade will solve the problem or not, but we will try that soon.

Works great. To the negative reviewers who say it doesn’t cut straight, the fence IS adjustable. There are 4 bolts. Loosen them, make the fence square, and you are all set. The soft start is nice. The included blade is fine.

I have always been a fan of Makita and as much for their utility as their aesthetics. I like my tools to look good and Makita’s always does. Performance is terrific too!
