The Makita 10 in. Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw with Laser (model LS1019L) delivers large cutting capacity and accuracy right out of the box. With the LS1019L, you will get all the cutting performance you need in a slide compound saw, but with the most compact size in the category for increased portability. With up to 6-5/8 in. capacity (crown molding, nested) jobs like cutting baseboards and crown molding are a snap, but with up to 4-3/4 in. baseboard, capacity, it can cut 4 x 4 dimensional lumber in 1-pass. It’s ideal for fine woodworking, carpentry, general construction, and more. The LS1019L is powered by a 15 Amp direct drive motor with soft start, a key point of difference. This means smoother start-ups and consistent, constant power with no belts to slip or replace. The electric brake provides added convenience. Great saw ..a couple of miner issues on a 90 degree bevel cuts seems to cut a third of a degree of which one has to reset to 90 degree when making square cuts..over all it does a great job..Very clean cuts…

I would recommend this saw to anyone who cuts trim daily or does finish work. The saw has perfect miters right out of the box, square and 45. The packaging was good nothing out of the ordinary. All in all very pleased well worth the money and almost half the price of Festool.

Very nice sliding miter saw. Quite, accurate, and has a huge 12″ capacity for cross cut. The soft start is really nice as the saw does not kick when the switch is engaged. Very well worth the money. On par with much more expensive saws for sure.

I own several Makita power tools and when I was shopping for a miter saw Makita was at the top of the list. When I saw this compact design I knew it was the one I wanted. I found that Home Depot had the saw I wanted plus it came with a stand. When the saw was delivered I found that the lock lever was broken. Possibly shipping damage. Rather than return the saw or fight with warranty service I order the part online. I am somewhat disappointed that this part was made of some type of plastic or bakelite material. Since this part on a miter saw is used so often it seems that it should be of a more durable material. Other than this one problem I find the saw to be well made and easy to operate. I haven’t had a chance to put it to use but have noted several useful features. The cuts I have made have been accurate and clean. A very nice clean cutting blade is included with this saw.

I bought this saw after reading multiple articles on miter saw brands, features and models. Also, I have other Makita tools and have been pleased with their quality and performance. While I have only had this saw for a few weeks, so far I’ve been very pleased with it. After setting it up, I followed the instructions in the manual to tune all of the angle adjustments to ensure accuracy, and with a few minor adjustments the saw cuts perfect miter joints for crown moldings and picture frames. Take full advantage of the saw’s dual bevel compound features to cut complex moldings laid flat. The manual contains a very helpful table to get you to the right miter settings, even if your wall corners are not exactly 90 degrees. I am very happy I chose this Makita saw!

Out of the box the saw did not cut straight or square. I adjusted the rails to get the blade to run true/straight and then adjusted the miter scale to square it up to the fence. Cuts straight and square now. Does Makita have room for improvement (e.g. accessories)? Absolutely. They’re headed in the right direction though.
